LA CANONICA di Camedo is a charming vacation home created by giving new life to a priest's former rectory ("La Canonica," in Italian), overlooking the breathtaking beauty of the Centovalli. Many furnishings have been maintained and enhanced by the style of the house, to preserve its unique character and history.
The living room is original and full of character: it opens onto the first-floor balcony with a small table and chairs to have a cool drink in summer while enjoying the landscape in any season. For fun afternoons and evenings with friends, you will find card and board games and more in the closet. In winter, warm up with the large wood stove.
The kitchen has all the comforts for a long vacation, induction hob and new appliances for cooking like at home, and a beautiful wood stove.
There are two bedrooms. The master bedroom has a French bed (140cm x 200cm) and a private bathroom with with shower and toilet. Wake up each morning to a spectacular view and relax on the balcony on the second floor. The room has a small fan for summer and an electric heater for summer.
The twin room with two single beds offers the same extraordinary view of the valley as the master bedroom and opens onto the balcony on the second floor.
Sitting at the priest's original 1930s desk, you can work from here in home office. The monitor, comfortable office chair, keyboard, mouse, printer/scanner, and free WiFi are at your disposal.
The main bathroom with bathtub and shower is located on the first floor. On the ground floor, with access from the garden, you will find the laundry room which provides you with a washing machine and dryer.
Enjoy the garden with a good-sized barbecue, table, chairs for outdoor dining, and deckchairs for sunbathing in warm seasons.
Quality bedding, towels and a courtesy kit are provided.
We also leave a gift basket with some necessary items for your first breakfast.

Camedo is the village that is home to one of the stations through which the famous Ferrovia Vigezzina railway that connects Locarno to Domodossola passes, and from which the famous Trenino del Foliage passes through the Centovalli and shows the incredible colors of autumn from a unique perspective. Hiking and mountain biking trails start here, such as La Via del Mercato, 12 km from Camedo to Intragna, an ancient mule track from which goods once passed.

By car, from Locarno reach Losone, passing through Ascona, and continue along the Via Arbigo, then take the Via Cantonale: in 25 to 30 minutes you will reach the house.
By public transportation, from Locarno station you can take train 72 towards Camedo for 3 stops, or the regional train for 12 stops and get off at Camedo station. From the station you reach the house in 10 minutes on foot.
