This listing is for the entire second story of our lovely 1800's Victorian on Main Street in Port Jefferson Village with private entrance. You will not share accommodations with other guests. The fridge will be stocked with a spread of breakfast and snack goods for your stay! A soak in our jacuzzi hot tub is the perfect way to begin or end any day. Perfect for groups who want to have a clean, comfortable space for themselves but also enjoy some privacy.
The rooms at The Fox and Owl Inn are available for rent individually (see other property listings), but if you're traveling with a group of family or friends, this is the place for you! Rent all three of our rooms to share the space only with your party, and get the best deal going in Port Jefferson. All of the rooms are furnished with antiques from a long range of eras, making for a fun, unique atmosphere. We provide fresh linens (sheets, towels) for all arriving guests. The sleeping quarters are divided as follows, all with unique skeleton-keyed locks for your privacy:
- The Glen: a calm room with a queen-sized bed, writing desk, and arm chair. This room's bathroom is not attached to the bedroom but is the largest of the bathrooms, with a tub/shower combo and vintage Victorian sink.
- The Meadow: The Meadow provides sleeping space for three guests- two in a queen bed and one on a very comfortable daybed. The daybed is a "CB2 Lubi Sleeper Daybed," serving as a great place to read a book, take a nap, or spend the night. Please let the innkeepers know if someone in your party will be using the daybed as an overnight bed so that they can prepare it with a mattress topper and sheets. The ensuite bathroom features a Victorian style clawfoot bath tub and dramatic chandelier in the vaulted ceiling: let the rest of the party go out while you catch sunset out the window from the bath!
- The Cove: feel like you're right on the harbor in this room with one full-sized bed and one twin bed. The twin bed doubles as a lovely sitting area. A closet helps you feel at home, and the newly renovated ensuite bathroom with Victorian upper-tank toilet brings you back in time.
Along with these three bed/bath combos, you also have The Den: a common space complete with two sofas, a large dining table, a breakfast buffet, sink, fridge, coffee-maker, toaster, and microwave. Breakfast is self-service; we provide all the goodies you'll need for your own smorgasbord. Typical items include hard-boiled eggs, Greek yogurt, hot and cold cereal, fresh fruit, bread, jams, snack bars, juice, coffee, and tea.
Guests can dine inside or out, as you'll be steps away from a quiet back porch and a garden patio. Trays are provided for guests to take breakfast to bed, but we beg of you to be neat and tidy!

- 35+ minutes to North fork attractions such as wineries, pick-your-own farms, Tanger Outlets shopping, and more!

- 15 minutes to Old Field Farm showgrounds.
- 25 minutes to MacArthur airport.
- 70 minutes to LaGuardia or JFK airports.
Noise- Our inn is located on Main Street leading into the heart of the bustling, charming Port Jefferson village. As you can see on any review site, The Fox and Owl Inn guests are consistently VERY pleased with the inn, but we do like to give a heads up about our close proximity to a road that can attract motorcycles, muscle cars, and trucks. While for most, this noise is not even note-worthy, others find this information critical when planning a getaway experience, so with our guests' best interest in mind, we provide it here! We DO provide free earplugs AND have installed interior wooden shutters to help dull any noise from the road, which keeps 99% of our guests happy, as our reviews show. This note is mainly to alert those who self-identify as extremely noise-sensitive: we have so many incredible reviews because The Fox and Owl Inn is the place to be!
Pets- Our calm, lovable little Corgi/Beagle mix named Utah lives with us and nearly never ventures into guest space but unfortunately, we cannot accommodate guests' pets. Too many guests have allergies, fears, or discomfort around cats and dogs (as well as other furry friends) and we want everyone's stay to be as relaxing and comfortable as possible. We can gladly make recommendations for pet accommodations nearby if you would like.
