After spending the day discovering local eateries, wineries and farm produce, kick back and relax under the magnificent night skies round the firepit, or enjoy the bubbles in the unique hot tub.
THE SPACE
The property was the site of the original camp set up for the construction of the dam at Moogerah in the 1960's.
Moogie House sits at one end of our beautiful 19 acre property that is protected koala habitat. Set above the lake, you will have stunning views to enjoy. The perfect place to relax and unwind.
The renovated house has beautiful old exposed wood floors, locally sourced and milled.
The raised house is open plan with both front and back verandahs to soak up the views. Entry to the house is by stairs. There is a 2 car space carport underneath. Plenty of driveway space for boats etc too.
With a/c reverse cycle and fans throughout and in all bedrooms.
Bathroom facilities include a large shower cubicle with deep tray for bathing small children if necessary. Separate toilet. Organic botanical toiletries provided. Full laundry facilities with washer and dryer and complimentary detergent.
Take in the stunning mountain and lake views and watch the amazing sunsets from the comfortable outdoor seating on the front verandah.
Stylish light and airy lounge with plenty of comfortable seating. Large TV with streaming services. Complimentary Wifi. Open plan dining area with large upcycled table to all sit and enjoy meals together. Fully equipped kitchen with Miele appliances, oven, hob and dishwasher. Expressi Coffee Machine included in the coffee and tea amenities, with complimentary teas and coffees to start you off.
Leafy shaded al fresco entertainment area with BBQ and pizza oven for outdoor dining.
Large firepit to sit round and star gaze the amazing Moogerah night skies. With no white light pollution around it is one of Queensland's top areas to watch the night sky.
Funky tropical spa room with large 6-person hot tub to relax in. Lay back under the bubbles and twinkling fairy lights.
We are dog friendly at Moogie House. We welcome well behaved dogs. (Please note that the property is unfenced, therefore pets must be supervised at all times. Dogs can be left securely on either front or rear balcony when out. We ask that you do not leave unattended dogs inside the house whislt out).
Public water access to Lake Moogerah nearby. 5 mins to Kalbar, 10 mins to Boonah for shopping. Close to walking trails and national parks.
Being just over an hour from Brisbane and Gold Coast makes for the perfect getaway. Relax and breathe in the fresh country air and enjoy the serenity.
Close to a number of Scenic Rim's top wedding venues makes it the ideal accommodation for guests attending local weddings too. We can offer transfers to/from local wedding venues by pre-arrangement.
GUEST ACCESS
Guests have exclusive use of Moogie House and access to the established gardens surrounding. Plenty of room to spread out and space for the kids (and dogs!) to run around.
You are welcome to go for a wander on the property, maybe discover the local wildlife. After the rains the property comes alive with seasonal creeks and even a waterfall. Keep a look out for the resident koalas- often heard.... but rather shy. Kangaroos and wallabies are around too.
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
-As the house sits in a bush setting, please be respectful of the local wildlife that lives here too.
-As we harvest our electricity from the sun we would appreciate guests being energy conscious with extended use of the spa or a/c units. Thks. Our water is sourced from the dam and use septic tanks so please be mindful of the environment. Please conserve water.
-Being dog lover's ourselves, we know the importance of getting away with our furry friends. Dogs stay for FREE at Moogie House. We will even provide beds, bowls and other doggie treats!
