Our traditional stone townhouse lies at the edge of the Centro Storico of Lama dei Peligini has been recently refurbished and now offers modern, comfortable accommodation whilst maintaining many traditional features.
Casa di Rosa is an excellent base to explore Abruzzo as we are only 30 minutes from the slopes of Roccaraso, 40 minutes from the Adriatic coast and the Maiella park is on our doorstep.
We fell in love with this beautiful area when we came to explore our Italian dream and want to share this experience with others.
We have tried to make Casa di Rosa a real home away from home, not just for us but for our guests too.
There are two bedrooms with double beds, ample storage and ensuite shower rooms (one ensuite includes a bath as well as shower cubicle). Cotton bed linen is supplied along with bath, beach towels and toiletries.
The lounge has a large corner sofa that opens up to form a 3rd double bed, TV with DVD player and a cosy log burner. The 3rd shower / cloakroom on the same floor as the lounge.
The kitchen is fully equipped with full electric oven, gas hob, toaster, Lavazzo Moda Mia coffee machine, kettle, fridge with freezer box and a pantry stocked with essential items such as coffee, tea and condiments.
There is a seating area over looking the roof terrace, perfect for relaxing with a book and taking in the view.
The roof terrace has clear views over the countryside towards the sea, and has a dining table with chairs and a couple of sun loungers.
The house has gas radiator heating throughout.
All windows and glass doors are secure with shutters.
The secure garage has space for your own sports equipment if required and we have a selection of bikes & safety equipment for our guests use.
Guests have complete use of the house and roof terrace. The garage and laundry room are shared with our studio apartment which is rented out separately.

Lama dei Peligni
Lama is a friendly, traditional Italian town. It has all you need with two supermarkets, butchers, fruit shop, weekly market and fish monger. Several bars, a delicious restaurant and several Pasticcerie ( all making the famous Sfogliatelle cakes from Lama) all within walking distance of Casa di Rosa.
There is also the Camoscio wildlife centre and Maurizio Locati visitors centre within the village and several mountain walks can be started from Lama. In the summer months the outdoor swimming pool is open.

Skiing
We are 30 minutes from the stunning slopes of Roccaraso with over 100km of piste.
Grotte del Cavallone
Situated just outside Lama heading towards Palena. Not for the faint hearted, this is Europe’s highest Grotte, at 1360m above sea level reached by cable car and a series of winding steps. It is normally open every day from June to the middle of September, in May and from the middle of September to October it is only open at the weekend, their website has full details of the opening hours and ticket prices.
Beaches & Costa di Trabocchi
Abruzzo has many Blue Flag beaches, and a lot of these are within a 45 minute drive of Casa di Rosa. You will also see dotted along the coast various Trabocco, these are traditional wooden fishing platforms still in use today. Some have been turned in to restaurants.
There are many Lido’s as well as free beach areas. Some of our nearest beaches are Le Morge, Fossacesia Marina, Ortona and Vasto. There is also a waterpark at Vasto which is great fun and Vasto old town is also worth a visit if you head that way.
Abruzzo Rafting offer white water rafting and kayaking for all ages & levels, and are just a 15 minute drive from the house.
We can also try to arrange for you to experience truffle hunting with an experienced truffle hunter based in our village.
