Welcome to Fameliti Casa Torre! Enjoy your stay in our fully restored family tower house built back in 1790 which can comfortably host up to 10 guests. Tower houses are the emblems of Mani. Stone strongholds that thrust from the rocky land as if to strike the sky itself. Their height was directly related to their defensive ability, but also to the rank and social position of the family to which they belonged. Their construction drew inspiration from Byzantine fortification architecture.
The space
* Patio *
This is the outside dining and lounging area. Perfectly built for complete privacy it is ideal for enjoying your breakfast or an evening glass of wine whilst savoring the serenity of the olive tree valley view or star gazing. The outside furniture set consists of a dining table and chairs as well as a triple and two single sofas with a coffee table and an big umbrella.
* Open plan Kitchen/Living Room *
This area consists of a fully equipped kitchen, dining area for six and a super comfortable corner sofa. The kitchen comes equipped with a Nespresso coffee machine, a toaster, a kettle, a microwave machine, a juicer, a blender, a panini maker and everything else you may want to prepare any meal. The whole area is fully air-conditioned so you can relax inside on the dining table or on the comfortable corner sofa in the living room, which can very easily be converted into a double bed for unlimited chilling time in front of the 43" TV (4K with Netflix).
* Bedroom Nr.1 *
This is the one right next to the kitchen area and although you have only a couple of steps to climb in order to access it, we refer to it as the first floor bedroom. You will definitely feel relaxed by the ambience of its stone structure, but also from our very comfortable double mattress (160x200cm) and super soft pillows. This room comes with a 50" Full HD TV with Netflix, air-conditioning, a large "chaise" couch, big cupboards and en suite bathroom with a large walk-in shower. If requested the sofa (which has a soft mattress) can be converted into a proper size single bed (90x200cm).
* Bedroom Nr.2 *
A few steps up the wooden spiral staircase lies the second floor bedroom. Stay in this exquisite example of local architecture with an arched ceiling and you will truly Immerse yourself in the local Mani culture. The room comes with a plush double bed (160x200cm), air-conditioning, a 32" Full HD TV (with Netflix), a big size cupboard and en suite bathroom with a shower cabin. If requested the room can accommodate one more adult or child in a proper size single bed (90x200cm).
* Bedroom Nr.3 *
Become the lord of the tower house by staying in the penthouse, the most spacious and brightest of the three bedrooms, with windows in all four directions of the horizon. Enjoy your morning coffee or beverage in the private little patio which gives direct access to the roof with breathtaking panoramic views of the whole area. The room comes equipped with a cosy double bed (150x200cm), air-conditioning, a 32" Full HD TV (with Netflix), a mini-fridge, two cupboards, a large sofa and en suite bathroom with a walk-in shower. If requested the room can accommodate two more adults or children by converting the sofa in a double (180x200cm) or two single beds (90x200cm).
Guest access
Our village Stavri is just 3km off the main road that connects Areopoli with Gerolimenas. You can reach us by car all the way to our gate and you can park inside the property where there is plenty of secure parking space (enough for three cars).
It's easy to move around the village on foot, if you want to go and eat at the local tavern for instance, but for everything else (like shopping, swimming, sight-seeing etc) you will have to drive.
The nearest super-market is on the main road just 4km away from the property and after no more than 2km you will find Gerolimenas bay, which is a very popular destination for swimming, coffee, food, etc.
Other things to note
Housekeeping is not included and can be provided upon request at extra cost.
A baby crib can be provided at no extra cost.
All the areas in the tower house enjoy fast 50Mbps internet through a mesh WiFi system.
The tap water in the area is not drinkable so guests should include bottled water in their shopping list. (Although we will have some bottles waiting for you in the fridge).
