One of three of the ‘Mains Cottages’ delightfully created from old farm buildings, Douglas Cottage is just perfect for a quiet break. Cheerily furnished and well-appointed, they instantly put you into holiday mood, and are in the perfect spot to soak up the best of the beautiful and diverse Kintyre Peninsula.

Douglas Cottage sleeps two and has been renovated in the style of the traditional Scottish bothies; rather than being a separate room, the double bed is a snug 'box bed' tucked into its own recess off the living space with curtains across for a cosy night’s sleep! There is still plenty of storage space, lights for reading and a spot to perch your morning cuppa.

The living area is very generous, and has television, wi-fi, plenty of books and maps to browse through – great to help you plan your trips out and about.

The kitchen has everything you will need with hob, combi microwave-oven, fridge, dishwasher, and a washing machine. There is also a sweet little log burning stove for that rosy glow on chillier evenings.

Outside there is a lovely, sheltered patio area to sit out and enjoy the clematis and honeysuckle whilst making the most of the peace and quiet.

Private parking is available not far from the cottage.

Locally, guests can enjoy all the peace of the country and yet the perks of the community close by – situated mid-way between the two ends of the village, the cottage is surrounded by forest and farmland, yet within walking distance of the volunteer-run village shop, local restaurants, the golf course and even the beach.

Carradale is offers something for everybody, with plenty to see and do. With a choice of walking, island hopping by boat, relaxing on the beach, golfing, or exploring the rest of the Mull of Kintyre.
