Welcome to Waverton!
Waverton is a newly renovated cottage that sits on a cliff top with panoramic water views. Long Beach is only 200 metres away down a bush track leading from Waverton's back garden. Waverton is close enough to the shops, restaurants, cafes and attractions of Bateman's Bay and beyond to be convenient, yet far enough away to be uncrowded and relaxing.
HOUSE:
The house has two double bedrooms, a lovely open plan living and dining room with floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors that open onto the view, a newly renovated and fully equipped kitchen with all new appliances (including a dishwasher and a Nespresso machine), a newly renovated bathroom and a large deck overlooking the water with a BBQ and outdoor setting for six.
Downstairs, there is a TV room with a couch, bean bags, a TV with a DVD player (DVD only, no TV channels) and a bookshelf with books and DVDs. There is also a laundry and additional toilet.
Bedroom 1 - queen sized bed (sleeps 2) with large wardrobe. This bedroom has lovely water views and direct access to the deck.
Bedroom 2 - two single beds with trundle bed (sleeps 3). This bedroom also has a tall chest of drawers and a clothes rack. There is a cot mattress under one bed. A travel cot is available on request.
Listen to the waves from the main bedroom and living room or enjoy a beautiful sunset while eating dinner on the deck. Watch out for local wildlife, including a family of kangaroos that frequently visit the garden, a resident blue tongue lizard and lots of birds. Enjoy the flat screen TV, DVD player, bluetooth Bose speaker, games, puzzles and books.
Waverton is ideal for couples and families. For those with young kids, the house is set up with a cot, change table and highchair. There are also lots of kids books, games and toys. The living areas and bedrooms are all on one level and there is a gate to secure the deck.
The house is open plan with large windows and glass sliding doors. There is a reverse cycle air conditioner in the main room that works for the whole house upstairs. There are also additional ceiling fans upstairs and heaters that can be brought up from downstairs if required.
There is enough space for several cars to park, but there is no garage.
BEACHES:
Long Beach is 200 metres away to the west down a bush track (with stairs) leading from Waverton's back garden. It is a beautiful 2 km long beach that is ideal for kids, swimming, water activities like canoeing or kayaking, walking or jogging on the sand and fishing. It is also a quick 1-2 minute drive away with easy access down to the water for launching boats.
Maloney's Beach is 1 km away in the opposite direction. You can reach it by following a cliff-top path with great views that leads from Waverton's back garden or by driving 1-2 minutes along Northcove Road. It is also a very kid-friendly and has a cafe and wine cellar. Maloney's backs onto Murramarang National Park and has great walking trails.
You can also drive to many other wonderful beaches, including South Durras, Broulee, Surf Beach and Bawley Point.
AREA:
Bateman's Bay, which is less than 10 minutes away, has all the conveniences you need, including shops and banks, as well as restaurants and cafes. The nearby area is full of great attractions, including:
- Mogo Zoo (includes the chance to feed giraffe and deer and enjoy animal "encounters")
- Movies, swimming pool, mini golf, indoor go karting and indoor play centre in Bateman's Bay
- Cafes and fun shops in Mogo including art and craft shops and book shops
- Eurobodalla Botantical Gardens with a playground and cafe
- Birdland Animal Park for wildlife encounters
- Kayaking at Mossy Point
- Walking and swimming in Murramarang National Park
- Berry picking at Clyde River Berry Farm
- Markets in Bateman's Bay every second Sunday
- Farmers' Markets in Moruya every Tuesday afternoon and Saturday
- Trip to Milton for cafes and restaurants (including Rick Stein's restaurant at Bannisters)
