Welcome to the Mellow Manatee Cottage! Wonderfully cozy, newly remodeled and redecorated 2/2 home with a spacious screen porch sitting right on the canal. Manatee, otters, stingray and turtles have been known to stop by to visit and play right in the backyard! 3 kayaks available for your use during your stay. (Two singles and One double kayak) Paddle the pristine waters of the Halls River. Surrounding land is Federal Bird Wildlife Sanctuary. Halls River connects to the Homosassa River, the wintertime home of the magnificent manatees!
The space:
Welcome to Mellow Manatee Rental, a serene retreat nestled in the town of Homosassa, Florida in Florida's Natures Coast. Located right on the water, this charming cottage offers a unique opportunity to experience the beauty of nature while enjoying modern comforts.
This delightful rental features two bedrooms. The "guest" room has one queen bed with a brand new high quality mattress. The "master" bedroom has a brand new, very comfy king size bed, as well an additional 2 twin beds for kids or grandkids in the attached sleeping area. *Please note, access to the twin beds is only through the master bedroom. It is not a seperate third bedroom, but instead it is a room attached to the master bedroom. (Please see floor plan in photos for details) Both the master and the guest bedroom feature a smart TV. There are two bathrooms (both featuring walk in showers), making it an ideal choice for up to six guests. Each room is thoughtfully designed to provide a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep after a day of exploration.
As you step inside, you'll immediately feel a sense of tranquility wash over you. The tastefully decorated living spaces are adorned with coastal-inspired accents, creating a calming ambiance. The open-concept layout seamlessly connects the living area, fully equipped kitchen and large screen porch, making it easy to socialize and entertain.
One of the highlights of Mellow Manatee Cottage is its canal, waterfront location. Just steps away from your door, you'll find yourself immersed in the beauty of nature. Keep an eye out for gentle manatees gracefully swimming by, as this area is known for its abundant marine life. Spend your mornings sipping coffee on the screened porch, taking in the natural sights and soothing sounds of the water.
Not only does Mellow Manatee Cottage provide complimentary kayaks, but it also offers direct access to the enchanting Halls River right from the house. Embark on a kayaking adventure without the need for transportation or additional rentals. We provide 1 double and 2 single kayaks, with life jackets and paddles for 4 adults. Launch your kayak from the private boat house just steps away, and set off to explore the meandering waterways of the Halls River.
As you paddle along the river, you'll be greeted by breathtaking scenery, including lush mangroves, towering cypress trees, and diverse wildlife. Keep your eyes peeled for playful manatees, shy turtles, frisky otters and a variety of colorful bird species that call this area their home.
At the end of a exciting day of kayaking, you will really enjoy an evening spent around the fire pit by the water, We have a lovely firepit with 6 adirondack chairs, with room for everyone to laugh and talk and maybe even make a s'more or two.
