2 Schlafzimmer Haus in Mid-City, New Orleans

Our classic new orleans home has high ceilings and lots of character. It is a shotgun which means that you will walk through each room to get to the others. There is a spacious living room, two bedrooms (one queen bed and one twin bed as well as a pullout sofa bed and air mattress), kitchen, and small bath. The couch in the living room converts into a queen size bed as well. The house also features hardwood floors and central air/heat.
Our house is located 6 blocks from the streetcar and within walking distance to some of the best restaurants and bars in the city.
This space is half of a shotgun double and neighbors live on the other side and share a wall with the apartment. The unit itself is completely independent. Guests will have access to the entire house as well as the shared backyard with the pool. Late check-outs/early check-ins are possible upon availability. Just let us know what your travel plans are and we can coordinate your arrival.

As mentioned above, you have access to the shared backyard and pool! Since this is a shotgun double, there is another unit with a long term tenant that shares this backyard.
The neighbor’s also have a service dog that stays 95% of the time inside with them.
In addition, smoking may only be permitted outside.
There is a TV in the apartment but we do not have cable. There is a Roku that allows you to connect to Netflix and an antenna that picks up the basic channels.
Washer and Dryer are found in the unit.
We live along a busy medical corridor so it is common to hear an ambulance or two throughout day.

Summary: Overall it was an okay stay, we even extended one night. Few things that might be of concern to other families... You have no control over the thermostat, its on the other side of the double. It was very cold but they had extra blankets so it didnt bother us as much as it would, we just bundled up together. We were supposed to have 3 adults and 2 kids, but its barely equipped for a family of 4, so my mother in law left and rented her own hotel even though we paid extra to have her stay with us. There was just no way we could fit another adult, it is certainly not setup for 6 people like the listing says. Pool is beautiful, but the hammock is totally molded. The wood deck leading to the pool is rotten and falling apart. The house is also full of tiny roaches. We didnt feel comfortable keeping any food there overnight, so we had to order food everyday instead of keeping food in the house. It was a "good enough" stay for the pool, which is the only reason we rented the house, but it was a little misleading. Its good bc it was kid friendly, the other side of the double has kids that live there full time so I felt comfortable with my kids. But you can hear every single word that family says, so we felt the need to whisper the whole weekend as to not disturb them. Not exactly a vacation vibe, but we rode it out. The hosts were VERY responsive, which I appreciate. I feel like the price was pretty high for the experience, I could have been at the Four Seasons, but the location of the pool was the appeal to us. I would not stay there again, but it might work for you...
