Villa Valentina is set overlooking the Ionian ocean and the neighbouring island of Zante. The villa is set within its own extensive grounds, on the outskirts of the historical village of Ratzakli nestled between the resorts of Skala and Katelios. Panoramic views from all balconies, terrace and pool areas are stunning looking over the turquoise waters of the Ionian sea stretching across the horizon in front of you. To the rear the grounds are nestled by olive groves and the mountains beyond with brilliant footpaths taking you to other outreaching villages (this is great for mountain biking, quad biking and horse riding and for photographers and painters too!!). A great location for those seeking seclusion, yet only minutes from the main resorts.
Set behind its own gated large private gardens, the closest neighbour being 500 metres away in the nearby village of Ratzakli, which has its own café and restaurant, this gives the guests a combination of luxurious surroundings, a laid back atmosphere and dramatic scenery. Katelios is also close by and walkable and offers a good selection of fine fish restaurants, bars, boat hire, beaches and a small marina. Only a few minutes drive/walking distance to the turtle beach of Kaminia and several other beaches along the shore, restaurants and shops. The village of Ratzakli, Kaminia beach and Katelios are all within a short distance. and a few minutes drive takes you to Skala, which alos has a good high street for shopping, pharmacy and other restaurants and bars on offer. Here you can also catch the small island cruisers for day trips.
The detached villa is of a large contemporary style, fully furnished by British owners and is built over three levels. The modern open plan split level living area has a fully fitted, modern kitchen, large Neff oven, electric hob, extractor, American style fridge freezer, microwave, coffee maker, blender, dishwasher, etc. The kitchen is large, well equipped with all the appliances and utensils you would ever need and far exceeds the normal rental properties on offer. There is also a beautiful dining area with large table and comfortable upholstered chairs. A highchair can be provided if needed.
On this level there is a cloakroom, large glass luxury corner shower room, mirror and washstand, drawered cabinet under. A large master bedroom with its own terrace, comprising outdoor seatee, coffee table and reading chair all on ground level, set overlooking the breath taking views and garden. The master bedroom has large modern wardrobes, dressing table, cabinets and TV, safe, with ample hanging space and drawers. In this master bedroom there is a large flat screen TV, DVD player, Wifi, Netflix, dressing table and mirrors. A 5ft comfortable imported bed with good mattress, Egyptian cotton sheets, plenty of pillows, side cabinets and luxury towels. All bedrooms have aircon.
Steps from the formal dining area lead down (5 steps) to the large open plan lounge. This is comfortably furnished with large leather sofa's and chairs, coffee tables, lamps and also has a satellite flat screen TV with a full list of channels including Sports, Disney, children's and film channels, DVD player, games and books for all ages. A Bose music system provides a lovely sound. The lounge opens up via two large patio doors opening onto an extensive covered patio with large marble dining table, purpose built barbecue. All fully lit at night with fairy lights as well.
Upstairs in the villa there are two further large bedrooms, one with en-suite shower room with toilet washstand and large mirror over, Laura Ashley king sized bed (single bed with additional trundle available at request, making this an ideal family room, dressing table and well furnished, with its own balcony and lovely sea views from all windows.
The other bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with 3/4 bath and shower over with toilet, wash stand and large mirror. The bedroom has twin beds, large wardrobe, dressing table, side tables and lamps with its own balcony and furniture. All of the bedrooms have either their own balcony or patio making it perfect for those travelling with extended family members and gives everyone their own space.
Additionally, there is a cot/playpen, highchair available and unbreakable plates and beakers for young children.
The lounge areas have large patio doors leading onto gardens and terraces with additional seating and dining areas for you to relax and enjoy the views.
The landscaped gardens are mainly laid to lawn with plentiful flower beds containing a variety of palms, shrubs, tropical plants and fruit trees, there is a separate garage in the grounds where you will find additional utilities as well as a washing machine, additional sink and beach umbrellas, buckets and spades and inflatables, large professional table tennis and other outdoor games.
The large swimming pool is extensive and overlooks the sea. The swimming pool is much larger than those usually found at villas, with a size measuring 35 feet in length and Roman steps as well as conventional pool steps for easy access. This is a great place to relax and unwind. A large covered corner pergola poolside, provides shade in the hot weather with couches, dining table and chairs and comfortable steamers. There are plentiful sun beds, umbrellas, table and chairs for you to sit and relax at various locations to take advantage of the amazing views out to sea.
On poolside there is a large pergola area offering additional dining seating, particularly enjoying the floodlite pool and surround for cocktails in the evening. A further large table and chairs and steamers with outside sofas.
There are loungers, seat, tables and umbrellas a plenty. Hydrotherapy massage jets in the pool if you are not quite relaxed enough.
Table tennis, Boulle and outdoor games are all available for your use. A selection of beach umbrellas, mats and swimming floatation are at your disposal to use or take to the beach together with snorkelling equipment and flippers!
The villa is serviced by an English speaking housekeeper who calls regularly during your stay with fresh towels and linens and cleans and can arrange anything else you may need. The swimming pool is professionally maintained 3 times a week calling very early so as not to disturb you. We use an English pool specialist who checks the water quality and maintains the pool safety. All staff are British and we provide a high level of service.

Just below the villa is the beautiful long sandy turtle beach of Kaminia within the bay of Mounda. It is around a 2 minute drive downhill. It is easily walkable and would take about 20 minutes, however the road is steep and windy so will take longer coming back up and may not be suitable for everyone as it can be exertive. This beach is relatively unspoilt and rarely gets over busy even in high season. The beach is a nesting site for the Loggerhead turtles and is a great place for those that enjoy conservation. There are a couple of cantinas selling drinks, snacks and ice creams throughout the day and you can hire sunbeds and umbrellas. The beach itself is very gently shelving into the sea, making it perfect for children and adults.
A 2 minute drive west along the coast will bring you to the laid back resort of Katelios. It's also an easy walk. Renowned for its fresh fish, you will find many restaurants along the beach front boasting fresh fish caught that very morning often by the restaurant owner! The beach is also gently shelving and sandy with sunbeds and umbrellas and motorboat hire. 5 minutes by car in the other direction and you will come to the busier resort of Skala, which has a large choice of good quality restaurants, café bars, gift shops and supermarkets together with a fairly laid back nightlife. However, in the Summer months there are some techno bars with dancing and entertainment. Visit the Roman villa which has beautiful mosaic floors and a temple. If you wander through to old Skala there is even the remains of an old amphitheatre.
The blue flag awarded beach at Skala is long and gently shelving. There are a couple of beach bars selling drinks, ice creams and snacks throughout the day. Sunbeds and umbrella are available for rent and there is also a watersports centre on the beach. You can also book local cruises from here to neighbouring islands or take a trip on the glass bottom boat. In the height of the season there are horse and carriage rides, horse-riding and novelty train. There is also several restaurants offering fine dining, cocktail bars and entertainment offered by the hotels.
