CAMELIA is a beautiful lake house, divided on three levels as was the taste of yesteryear, where there is just the right amount of space for families and groups of friends.
Climbing the stairs of the Palazzo Gritti from the Strecia side of Calastri you reach the apartment, immediately greeted by its large living room, furnished with two sofas for chatting with friends or reading a book after a day of sightseeing, swimming and water sports. Here the large table for 6 is perfect for dinners with friends, but also for study and work.
Next door, separated by a small wall, is the modern kitchen, complete with appliances and everything you need to prepare lunches and dinners as at home, and an additional table for breakfasts, lunches or quick snacks.
Going up the stairs leads to the sleeping area, which is divided on two levels. On this floor, there are two bedrooms, one with a French bed, and a double with a single sofa bed (Please note: The sofa bed will not be prepared as a bed for your arrival, as we deem it proper to use it as a sofa during the day. You will find the bed linen, pillows and blankets in the wardrobe/shelf closest to the sofa.); and additionally a single bed placed in the loft. Climbing the stairs to the top floor leads to another loft, where there are two more single beds.
A bathroom with a bathtub concludes the apartment.
WARNING: the fireplace is only decorative and CANNOT BE USED!
Quality bedding, towels and a courtesy kit are provided.
We also leave a gift basket with some necessary items for your first breakfast.

Palazzo Gritti is a historic building that has been carefully renovated to give life to 6 vacation apartments in the village of Morcote. This project was born out of an idea and a love for the surrounding area and in a beautiful setting, where the lake laps the shore and where there is a feeling of serenity and relaxation.
Guests have access to the beautiful lakefront garden, 4Sin Garden, 300 m from the house, where they can use deckchairs, tables, and chairs for outdoor dining (without kitchen use). ** GARDEN TO BE USED FROM MAY TO OCTOBER **
Staying here, you will have the privilege of having the lake just a stone's throw away: you can, with your towel on your shoulder, cross the course and dive right into the water, or have fun with its SUP!
Furthermore, the building has a splendid patio under the porch used as a lounge for the exclusive use of guests, a great place to read, relax and chat in all seasons and enjoy the shade during the hot summers.
In front of the Gritti palace is the landing stage with the ticket office for boats to all the most famous destinations on the Ceresio.

Stroll along the lakeside promenade and under the arcades, discovering the shops, boutiques and restaurants, and reach the bathing area in just 5 minutes. From the port of Morcote, you can purchase navigation tickets and visit various tourist destinations on the lake.
A nearby parking garage (Autosilo Garavello) and connection to public transportation (bus, train, boat), whose stops are a few minutes walk from the Gritti Palace, make it easy to reach the vacation apartments.
How to arrive:
If you arrive by train, from Melide train station take bus N.431 (direction Lugano, Autosilo Balestra) for 7 stops (approx. 11 minutes) and get off at the stop "Morcote, Piazza Grande". Walk for about 1 minute (140 m) to reach the building.
If you arrive by car, from the A2 motorway take the exit "Melide" and follow the GPS directions: in 8 minutes you will reach the apartment. Before the village, coming from Melide, at the beginning of Morcote, there is a big sign on the right indicating a municipal car park, where you can leave your car at a convenient rate and there is also bike storage. From there, walk 280 m to reach the apartment.
History of the Paleari-Isella-Gritti Palace
Staying in this mansion, you will breathe in the passage of centuries and will be treated to a unique experience.
The palace, built in the 1400s. is an integral part of Morcote's history, dating back to the Middle Ages. The stucco and friezes that characterize it today date from 1661. In a direct line the house passed from the Paleari family to the Isella, and from the Isella to the Gritti.
Morcote and Arbostora were summer residence areas favored by patrician noble families. Only the plague, which broke out in 1432, inflicted a severe blow to the splendor of this era. The years following the plague coincided with the beginning of the history of the most famous morcotesi and their families, such as the famous architect Giuseppe Fossati, the painter Pietro Isella (Schönbrunn Castle), the engineers Caccia and Paleari, the painter Maspoli, and the sculptor Tiravanti.
