Welcome to "Florida's Nature Coast"!! The beauty of nature coast marshland, eco tourism galore, scalloping from our back yard, boating and fishing paradise, private retreat to renew and refresh- we have it covered!
>The home:
As you step inside, you’ll first notice the wide open space of this home. The kitchen has been tastefully updated, a dedicated beautiful dining area, family room with 65" smart TV with streaming apps, board games, sliding doors that open all the way up for a seamless indoor/outdoor transition.
Check out that old school arcade with 300+ nostalgic games included!
Primary suite is on one side of the home, guest bedrooms are on the other. Primary bath appointed with his and hers closets, and a low lip entry, accessible shower. Sliding doors will take you to the pool area. Master bed is tension relieving memory foam for a fantastic night’s sleep. 43" TV with streaming apps.
Additional king bedroom with memory foam mattress.
"Kids' room” with full sized bunk beds big enough for kids of all ages, and kids at heart.
Office nook/den also converted into a small, but functional additional sleeping area with full bed. Note- the door to this space is frosted glass, no closet area, but small dresser storage.
>Outside:
Step outside the family room to find a screened in porch with a couch and glider, perfect for viewing our amazing sunsets. Beyond the porch awaits a large heated private pool with spa attached and waterfall spillover. *No additional charge for pool/spa heat!!* *Please note- heater will not work if the outside temps stay below 50 degrees for a period of time- thankfully this is rare, but important to note*
Just beyond the sparkling pool is our thatched roof tiki hut, perfect for an evening glass of wine, ice cold sweet tea, or throwing a line in to catch a few fish. Many guests have enjoyed morning coffees looking over the serene water.
The private floating dock awaits your choice of rented water vessel, or your fishing lines (poles, chairs, and nets provided). 4 individual 10' kayaks, lifejackets included. Keep a close eye on the water, other than a plethora of fish and turtles, dolphins, manatees, stingrays and jellyfish make their way into the canals at times.
Propane grill in the backyard for your use. There should always be a backup tank, but if you find them empty, we will credit the small cost of trading at our local stores just down the street. We ask that you scrape the grill after use in preparation for the next guests.
This property is waterfront- please supervise children along seawall and dock area. There is not a gate to the dock or sea wall. There is a locking screen door preventing access to the backyard, just passed the locking glass slider.
>WiFi:
Up to 200mbps for streaming, working from "home" and remote schooling!
>Pool:
Beautiful private pool and spa with waterfall spillover overlooking waterfront backyard. No charge to heat the pool, pool is kept at 85 degrees. Pool heat may temporarily shut down if days/nights are below 50, which thankfully doesn't happen too often around here! As we cannot guarantee temps, we do not charge to heat the pool/spa.
**Please note**: Our pool is professionally cleaned once a week. It is not screened in to maintain the integrity of the amazing waterfront view, this can come with the blowing of leaves, visiting of our resident flock of ducks and other natural happenings that can create a bit of debris in the water. If you feel it needs additional professional attention, I can set up an additional cleaning for a fee.
>Boaters welcome!
Have a boat? Bring it! Blue Pelican Marina is minutes away, dock at "home" and enjoy Gulf waters at your convenience. Blue Pelican also offers boats for rent, and trailer storage if you bring your own. Hernando Beach Marina provides similar local offerings.
>Day Trips:
2 hours to Disney Parks and Orlando attractions, 1 hour from Busch Gardens, and Tampa Attractions. Closest airport is Tampa International Airport one hour away, or 2 hours from Orlando (MCO). A little over an hour to Clearwater beach, 1.5 to St Pete's Beach, 2 hours to Siesta Key. 40 minutes to Homosassa, home to Nature Coast Eco Tours- amazing guided kayaking, sunset dolphin cruises- wonderful guides. Exciting day trips await! Stay outside of the hustle and bustle at your own private retreat.
>Accessibility:
This ranch style home is fully accessible with no stairs at entrances, low lip showers and wide open hallways. Grab bar to enter pool, however hot tub does not have accessibility features. There are steps to get into the Tiki Hut, and steps and a ramp to get on to the dock.
>Good to know:
In Florida, near water- bugs, lizards, frogs and geckos are a very common thing. We have the house professionally treated for insect pests, but please try to keep doors/windows closed so they don't venture inside for a visit. Nature happens, but we take every preventative measure possible.
Hurricane season is from June 1-November 30. Please consider purchasing travel insurance regardless of the time of year to protect your travel investment, but especially for reservations during this time.
>Camera disclosure:
Our property is monitored by several outdoor security cameras. Street cam above the garage, front door doorbell cam, backyard camera, and dock recording audio and video. When guests are on property, we turn off camera notifications. Requesting to book indicates consent to this security feature, and agreement not to tamper with the cameras. *We do not mind if you cover/turn the camera that has view of the pool area, please return to original positioning upon checkout*
>Vacant lot next door to us is not our property- Our neighbor has graciously offered to allow guests to use the lot for trailer/vehicle parking as long as his gate to the property isn't blocked. Please let us know in advance if you'd like to use the lot.
There is no street parking allowed in the neighborhood.
Our driveway can fit 2 cars side by side comfortably. Three can fit if vehicles are small. Please do not park on our lawn.
