The Grand Kimball Lodge is filled with enormous windows, a large, open concept layout, and Wes Anderson inspired decor. Enjoy all that this vibrant neighborhood, Logan Square, has to offer, and then come back to The Grand Kimball Lodge to relax. This 5 bedroom + glamping tent and 4 bathroom rental comes equipped with 2 spacious kitchens and 2 separate living areas, so there's plenty of room for everyone!
Early Check-Ins and Late Check-Outs are difficult to accommodate. If you need additional time, please consider booking an extra day.
Guests between the ages of 18-24 are permitted to book on an exception basis only. In your inquiry please provide your age, reason for booking and who will be staying with you.
Local guests are permitted to book on an exception basis only. Local groups looking to use the property for a party, gathering or other group event are expressly prohibited and your reservation may be canceled.
Anyguest booking this property must be staying at the property for the full duration of the reservation and is responsible for the actions of all people in the group. Bookings made on behalf of others are allowed for some unique circumstances so please inquire if you are planning to book for someone else but do not intend to stay yourself.
Parking in the city can be tricky and is not guaranteed. There may be some street parking available nearby, but please be sure to read all posted signs before parking anywhere on the street to avoid being ticketed or towed. To guarantee a spot, you can use a parking app like SpotHero or ParkWhiz to find and book parking spots ahead of time around the city.
Very simply, please respect my home and my neighbors. Please read these rules carefully and take them seriously, failure to comply will result in forfeiture of your deposit and/or termination of your reservation without a refund.
1.) No parties or additional overnight guests without prior approval. Noise disturbances reported by neighbors or police are unacceptable.
2.) Additional visitors are not permitted at my property. Only registered guests may access the property for the entire duration of your stay.
3.) Please ensure you have left the premises and returned any keys issued to the designated location by the agreed upon check-out time. Failure to do so will result in a $250 late check-out penalty.
4.) Absolutely no smoking (of anything) inside the unit or on building premises. Additionally, local law prohibits smoking within 15 feet of any entrance. If there is evidence of smoking, including odor, there will be a $1,000 smoke remediation charge. “Smoking” means inhaling, exhaling, breathing, carrying, or possessing any lighted or electronic cigar, cigarette, pipe, vaporizer, joint, or other tobacco or marijuana product in any manner or in any form. No marijuana, medical or otherwise, may be used, grown, stored or consumed on the premises.
5.) Please be respectful of my neighbors and be mindful of noise and loud music. Please observe quiet hours from 10:00 PM-8:00 AM daily.
6.) Pets are not allowed at the property unless previously approved and pet fee paid. You will be charged $500 if you bring an unauthorized animal.
7.) Lockouts will result in a $150 fee per occurrence. Additionally, lost keys will incur a $50 per key fee.
8.) I acknowledge that as the primary guest on the reservation that I am staying at the property for the entire duration of the stay and responsible for the actions of all guests. If you are NOT staying at the property and booking on behalf of others, please contact us as limited exceptions are permitted to this rule.
9.) Local guests are permitted to book on an exception basis only. Local groups looking to use the property for a party, gathering or other group event are expressly prohibited and your reservation may be canceled.
10.) Lost and Found: We are not responsible for any personal items left behind. If you let us know what personal items you are missing we will make an attempt to locate those in our lost and found and have them shipped to you at your own expense. Please be sure to check the home (including all drawers and closets) before you depart to ensure you have all of your personal belongings.

Summary: My friends and I chose this loft for an informal reunion for a few reasons: we wanted spacious communal areas -- like that living room, which is as pictured -- our own beds, plentiful bathrooms and a nice neighborhood that was walking distance to the subway. It's about a 15-minute walk to the L at Logan Square, and on a nice day it's fine, and fun to look at the beautiful houses in the neighborhood, which has several restaurants within a 20-minute walk. The space itself is very quirky and fun -- Bob the on-site owner is a big fan of Wilco and that is part of what makes this a special place. Not sure it'd be the best place for young kids, as there's only one railing for the stairs that lead to the second-floor bathrooms and bedrooms (which are really good-sized and well-equipped). Bob was very responsive to any issues and super friendly. Stefanie was also responsive and helpful via email. There was only 5 of us who ended up on this trip, but originally it was 8 and that would've been perfect for this place, as there are 8 beds. The kitchen had the basics in terms of condiments and utensils, microwave, coffee maker (don't use the paper filters for it though!). We're glad we chose this place, though we wish the outside communal areas were bigger (the deck is small as was the space next to the sauna). It was hot during our stay anyway, so we were happy to be inside.
