The Goodlodge- Summer Getaway | Hütte in Gooderham

Enjoy a fun summertime family getaway at our home away from home! The Goodlodge has two lakefront log cabins on Gooderham Lake, the Main Cottage and the Guest Cottage are perfect for an extended family and friends to make a lifetime of memories.

The Space:
Located just over 2 hours from Toronto, it is the perfect place to unwind and spend time making memories with family. (NOT suitable for groups that are looking for a place to have loud parties)
Take in the breathtaking surroundings outdoors, swim to your hearts content, or explore the pristine lake with the paddle board or canoe provided. After a day in the sun, relax together around the fire pit and look up at the stars.
*Some life jackets are available however appropriate life jackets for sizes of guests should be brought as needed for safety.
Both the Main Cottage and the Guest Cottage have their own Kitchens, Bathrooms & Bedrooms. See more details of each space below.
**Main Cottage- 3 Bedrooms (2 levels)**
Curl-up in the spacious and comfy living room and enjoy a family movie night or keep the kids entertained with their own TV or games in the spacious basement while the parents have quiet time. There are 3 Smart TV’s to choose from where you can use your log-in to access your favourite streaming services.
For the wee ones, there are optional safety gates in front of the indoor staircase and outdoor balcony staircase. A Pack n’ Play and highchair are also available.
*Main Level* Spacious entryway, 2 bedrooms, 4 piece bathroom, open living/dining/kitchen area with lake view, walk out deck and BBQ.
Living room: Listen to your favourite music from your devices using our quality bluetooth speakers. Take in the views from the picturesque window or enjoy endless streaming on the 60 in. Smart TV.
Kitchen: The kitchen is well equipped, including fridge, stove, microwave, dishwasher & fully stocked with the necessities (pots, pans, cutlery, small appliances, spices, oil, coffee, sugar, dish towels & dish soap). Tap water comes from the well and is safe for drinking and cooking, curved faucet to the right is filtered for fresh taste.
Dining Area: Our dining table seats 6 comfortably. Table extender and extra chairs are also available.
Master bedroom: Queen bed with lake view.
2nd Bedroom: Bunk bed (Double/Single) with mini TV and Firestick for streaming.
Lower Level
Downstairs there is additional recreation/living space (furnished, but unfinished) with Smart TV and a third bedroom with queen bed. There is a full size fridge/freezer for additional cold storage and a laundry room with a sink, washing machine and dryer. Enjoy another great view of the lake or use the single door walk out for quick access to the outdoors.
**Guest Cottage- 2 Bedrooms**
Charming Original Log cabin with open concept layout and wood burning fireplace for cool nights. Well equipped kitchen, dining and living space including pull out couch to make the most of movie nights. Walkout to "treehouse" balcony overlooking lake.

2nd Bedroom with Bunk Bed (Single over Double).

Outdoors
Firepit- There is a firepit in the front yard, great for roasting marshmallows and stargazing. Help yourself to some firewood stored at the backside of the garage.
BBQ- Feel free to Use the BBQ at the Main cottage and don't forget to cover it up after it cools down. A spare propane cylinder can be found in the shed.
And much more...we are in the geocaching capital of Canada! There is also access to many multi-use trails for which you can enjoy hiking, biking, off-road motorcycling, ATVing and exploring, the choice is yours.
Shopping & Restaurants
Take a short 3 min drive (or a nice walk) to the town of Gooderham to pick up any necessities from the Lucky Dollar General Store or the LCBO. For complete Grocery selection, shops, pharmacies and more- Haliburton Village is a 20 minutes drive away.
Other things to note
The Goodlodge is a PET-FREE, SMOKE-FREE ZONE! If you are going to smoke outdoors, all butts need to be disposed of in the trash - do not throw or leave them anywhere on the property.
Bed Linens, kitchen towels & bath towels are provided. *Guest must bring their own Lake towels*
We are located off of a municipal, paved road for easy year-round access. We have a parking pad & a laneway that can fit a total of 5-6 vehicles.
Guests will not have access to the main garage or locked storage room on lower level of main cottage.
We are on a septic system, this means nothing is to be flushed down the toilet other than the toilet paper provided and no food down the sink drains. Thank you for being mindful of this!
