For this reason you will find many palazzi, however withoutthe glamour of the past.Casa Sottole Mura, situated next tothe recently renovated church named Chiesa dellaMadonna del Rifugio with a parking place next to it. The house is a former farmwith cows where now you will find the main room. When you go outside via thefront door you are in the town, whilst the backdoor leads you to a large terracein the ‘campagna’, covered by the shade of a bamboo pergola. It is situated at the top of a hill with olive trees. The viewis quite spectacular, as you see below in the valley a large part of WestSabina with the pre Apennines at the end.Amidst ofthe olive trees you will find a fine swimming pool (10 x 4 x 1.60) surroundedby cypresses and olive trees. The view here is as spectacular as from the mainterrace. The pool is surrounded by a fine terrace, partly in wood.The largeterrace in front of the house is connected with a long terrace with grapes (asof July they are edible). Below this terrace there is a small ‘orto’ withtomatoes. In the garden on the slope of the hill are several fruit trees.The palazzowith the bar is the centre of the town. Here you can have outside or inside a cafeor cappuccino with a cornetto as breakfast in the morning. In the evening youcan order an aperitivo. The supermarket is only a 5 minutes’ walk from thepalazzo. With a 15 to 20 minutes’ drive you will find a number of good restaurants. At the station of Collevecchio (with a parking place) , being only a 10 minutes’ drive, thetrain will take you almost every hour within only an hour to Rome and to the airport of Fiumicino. A rental car is recommended.Finally thehouse has a living and dining room adjacent to it a brand new kitchen witheverything you need. There is one large bedroom and two small bedrooms with each2 beds and 2 bathrooms, an extra toilet, etc. and air conditioning in eachbedroom. There is a separate studio opposite the house, with 2 beds, a small bathroom and a small kitchen, which can be rented for 200 euro a week extra. Ideal, if you wish to have some extra privacy.
