Rear garden. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking.. Hughs Highland Hideaway is a traditional croft house situated on a croft on the outskirts of the village of Staffin in the north of the Isle of Skye. The croft is still a working croft by the neighbouring farmer. There are two bedrooms upstairs both with views over the croft and out over the sea. The bathroom is situated on the ground floor as is the kitchen with a back door leading to the back garden and all around to the front. The garden is laid to grass so is great for kids to play on. The kitchen leads to the dining room which has a open fire and also has front facing views. Across the hallway is the living room, very cosy especially when the wood burner is lit, and like the dining room it has front facing views. At the foot of the driveway there is a gate that has shared access for the cottage and also the farmer.
The property is close to the village of Staffin and you can get your milk, bread and newspapers from the local shop. There is also a village hall that has some entertainment on so keep an eye out for posters for a dance or a ceilidh as it is known on Skye. The attractions to see on the north of the island include the Old Man of Storr, the Quirang, the Dinosaurs’ footprints, The Trotternish Peninsula and many, many, walks. Portree is is 30 minutes by car, and is the main town on the Isle of Skye where you will be able to book boat trips. There is also a swimming pool and a cinema if the weather is not great!! After a good day out in the Skye air, you will just want to get back and enjoy the evening in front of the wood burner and plan what to do the following day.
