This Catalan farmhouse, renovated preserving its history, offers an ideal location for a family or a group of friends who wish to spend a relaxing holiday while discovering the culture of the Penedès, a wine region between Barcelona and Tarragona, 15 km from the beaches of La Costa Dorada.
The building is listed as a historical monument, thanks to the intact presence of a circular stone bonfire around which the monks of the XVII century perched during the transhumance from the coastal area to the mountain. This family home has been renovated to transform it into a comfortable rural accommodation, preserving the original decoration and structure, developed a sustainable energy autonomy (honored with the 1st award of Catalan rural tourism).
The 500m2 farmhouse offers accommodation for up to 18 people (confort capacity to 13 people). The tariffs offered are for 13 people, and there is an extra fees of 30€/night/person from 14 to 18 pax. It is distributed in 6 rooms, 5 of which are suites with their own bathroom and have a large and comfortable double bed, 4 of them are family type with an additional single bed. The sixth bedroom on the ground floor is ideal for children because it has 4 single beds. One of the 2 bedrooms on the ground floor with a double bed is adapted for people with reduced mobility, with a bathroom and access without steps from the outside patio.
Although the stone farmhouse guarantees natural freshness, each room is equipped with a fan for the hottest nights in summer.
The ground floor is very cozy with its spaces to relax: common room to listen to music, historical room with the famous stone fireplace, games room (table football, billiards, etc.). The floor reveals glass wells that communicate with the old wine or cereal cellars.
Access to the first floor is via a vintage staircase, where the other 4 bedrooms are located. The central dining room communicates with the fully equipped kitchen for dining on site or preparing take-out for excursions in the region.
The owner offers the services of a home cook to relax or discover the local gastronomic specialties.
The upper floor has a large living room where you can relax in front of satellite TV or on a sofa reading a book in front of the panoramic view of the vineyards and mountains.
Access to the exterior is through an interior patio paved with period decoration. A summer kitchen with gaz oven, outdoor gaz paella pan, and a large barbecue allows you to imagine delicious grilled meats or "calçots" that can be eaten in a dining room with a fireplace next to it. Through a door you can enter a chill-out area in front of the pool where children can have fun and play table tennis, swing, slide from a wooden cabin, while parents relax in a Jacuzzi (open from October to May, depending of the sanitaries rules) or in the sauna.
In an annex to the farmhouse, it is possible to organize birthday parties or weddings, company seminars or tastings of the family production of wines and olive oil.
Catalonia applies a holiday tax, to be paid for on check-in, of 1 Euro per person aged more than 16 and per day, yet limited to 7 days.
