The image of a spectacular sunset is one that lives with you long after a wonderful vacation. Add to that a lakeside deck for enjoying a sundowner, another deck for sitting by the fire-table and toasting marshmallows, and a wealth of lawn for playing games, and you have the perfect recipe for the outdoor holiday you’ve dreamed of.
But it doesn’t stop there as you step inside this beautiful property for all the comforts of home and lots of space.
The open-plan kitchen, dining and living space overlook the deck and water with the best views of Lake Simcoe. The large sliding barn door neatly screens off the hallway where there are three bedrooms and a family bathroom.
Lucky sleepers in the master bedroom get a lake view on wakening and enjoy a sliding door to the deck for that first-thing stroll to the water.
On the lower level there are two more bedrooms, another bathroom and a great family room area with air hockey, Smart TV and a comfortable couch.
This is a great spot for two families to spend time together yet have their own personal space.
The proximity to the GTA via HW12, rather than having to suffer HW400, makes Sunsets on Simcoe a great choice for those who have to travel back to the city during their stay, or for guests looking for a short break. It’s a short drive to Orillia to explore the old downtown, check out the Mariposa Market or stroll in Couchiching Beach Park.

Things you need to know:
One well-behaved dog is welcome at this property
Linens & indoor towels are provided for all rentals; please bring your own outdoor towels
A post-rental cleaning service is provided; however, the property is to be left in a tidy condition
The cottage has a westerly exposure
The boat lift has the owners’ boat and no other motorised watercraft are permitted to dock due to the unpredictable nature of the lake.
Off-season short breaks are available - 3-nights minimum stay
Waterfront The waterfront is shallow, however, as the shoreline has some large rocks, water entry is best from the ladder at the end of the dock, where the water level is still approx 2ft. Water shoes are recommended as the lake bed is a mixture of rock and sand. There is also an anchor right off the dock to which the Lily Pad floating mat can be attached.
Trivia Lake Simcoe’s name was given by John Graves Simcoe, the first lieutenant governor of Upper Canada, in 1793 in memory of his father, Captain John Simcoe. Captain Simcoe was born on 28 November 1710, in Staindrop, in County Durham, northeast England and served as an officer in the Royal Navy, dying of pneumonia aboard his ship, HMS Pembroke, on 15 May 1759.
