You found our secret getaway home away from home! Plenty of beds, sleeps up to 12+. Beautiful 2560 sqft southern comfort home. Relax, and enjoy the safe city of Gardendale, only 8-12 min downtown. Wrap porches make a perfect setting for morning coffee/meals, fully stocked kitchen. Perfect for large/multi families. Plenty of room to spread out! You’ll wish you could stay longer! Long term bookings accepted-special offer available. Available for Event Rentals. We strive to maintain our high standards of a sparkling clean 5 star rating. Stay with comfort, free of concern. With so many beds we take extra time to ensure you will be staying in a clean space! No parties unless prearranged with host. NO SMOKING ALLOWED!!! $500 fee for smoke fumigation/removal and cleaning charges if smoking is done anywhere in the home. NO PETS ALLOWED EITHER! Hardwood floors can’t handle it. Parties allowed only with host’s approval.
Historic Victorian 2560 sq. ft one level home built in 1910. Large, spacious, quiet and comfortable. Relax in southern elegance. Free wifi and cable included. 5 beds (1 King, 3 Queens. 1 Double) in 3 separate suites (4 BR) and a queen size sofa bed. Each suite is separate and has its own full bathroom. Additional beds available upon request: 3 deluxe 18" tall air beds.
About the house:
Master Suite:
King size bed, sitting area, walk in closet, 2 sink vanity and shower stall. Large flat screen TV with DVD/Blu ray player. Armoire and night stands have drawers for storage. One full size air bed and a twin can easily fit in this suite. The shower has grab bars and a removable shower seat and is also handicap accessible for your convenience and safety but not ADA compliant.
Queen Suite:
Queen size bed, and a full size bed, sitting area, SmartTV with cable, closet, dresser and night stands with drawers for storage. The bathroom has a beautiful antique claw foot tub (use TLC on original handles) in addition to the vanity and shower stall. One queen or full size air bed can easily fit in this suite. This is the handicap accessible suite. The shower has grab bars and a removable shower seat and is also handicap accessible for your convenience and safety but not ADA compliant.
Library Suite:
There are 2 beds in this suite, 2 adjoining rooms that share a bathroom. 2 Queen size beds, sitting area, SmartTV with cable and books for your enjoyment. Some children's books and toys are also located here. The adjoining room (These rooms are separated by folding doors for privacy) has the second queen size bed, wardrobe for your hanging clothes, a dresser for storage. A twin size air bed can fit in this area. Adjacent to this room is the bathroom. Shower stall, full vanity and toilet are all in this one suite. The fireplace in this suite is only for display.
Business Office:
Desk with hutch, a printer and office supplies, sitting chairs and bookcase. Great for visiting if others are watching TV. There is a side exit door in this room to access the wrap around porch and is the closest exit if you want to walk to the Thrift Store, or Hamburger Heaven.
Living Room:
Enjoy the spacious tall ceilings and original molding in this room adjoining the business office area. There is a comfy couch, a queen size Sofa Bed, rocker, recliner and large BRAND NEW SmartTV that is Alexa enabled and features streaming apps like Prime Video, Hulu and Disney Plus. A DVD player and a Wii gaming console are also attached to this TV with a few fun games there to use during your stay. The door going out of the front of the house is original to the home, please only use in an emergency. Use the other 2 side door exits.
Dining Room:
Adjoins the Living Room. Spacious room with gorgeous chandelier and fireplace (display only) and table seating for 6. Feel free to use any of the dishes, serving platters, bowls and goblets on display. There are also 3 folding tables and 10 chairs in the master closet if you want to set them up in the Dining Room.
Kitchen:
Large kitchen with 2 bar stools to eat at the counter. Electric stove and oven. There are plenty of pots, pans, food chopper, toaster, microwave, hand mixer, tea kettle and other things you may need. Spices, salt/pepper, sugar, flour, canola oil... Please help yourself to the Keurig with supplies for coffee, hot cocoa and hot tea. We also have a traditional coffee pot and filters. The refrigerator has a water and ice dispenser which is fine to drink. Coffee grounds are in the freezer door. Dishwasher with dish tabs included.
Sun Room:
The skylight makes this a bright space all day long. Enjoy your meals in this a cozy eat in area for 4.
Laundry Room:
Washer and dryer with supplies are provided at no additional charge for your convenience during your stay.
Wrap Around Porch:
Enjoy your meals outside! There are 2 tables and 8 chairs to enjoy meals under the fans in the screened in area or relax in the chairs, couches and chaise lounge in this screened in porch section off of the kitchen. This is the south, enjoy it! Some guests wish they could to stay longer to fully enjoy the screened in porch area. The lights strung along the ceiling add a touch of ambience to enhance your nighttime enjoyment!

All bedding, towels, pillows and blankets are included.
Guest access
The whole house is included with your rental so feel free to use all of it. The driveway is a pull through one and there are enough parking spaces for about 6-7 cars. The sidewalk leads to a fence that has several parking spaces used for event parking. Next door is Hamburger Heaven restaurant (great breakfast food), and the thrift store.

Since the house was built in 1910, there have been some extensive renovations. However, there are still some things that are original to the house, Hardwood floors, entry doors, knobs on claw foot tub... please be kind to them :)
