The home is surrounded by majestic old growth cedar and fir trees and lush natural landscape of giant fern, trillium & wild berries to name a few. There is also a beautiful array of planted rhododendron, jasmine, roses, daffodil, tulips and an enormous 50 year old wisteria draped over the front porch walkway. Several fruit trees, blueberries and fresh cooking herbs are there for guests to enjoy. The home overlooks historic Glenn Creek offering 150' of creek frontage, making it an excellent place to enjoy salmon and steelhead season! The creek also provides several private swimming holes and a small waterfall to enjoy. The backyard provides a wonderful place to relax and unwind with a glass of wine and a soak in the large covered 6 person hot tub overlooking the creek. A large expansive wraparound deck with plenty of seating and a gas grill provides a great place to barbeque, sunbathe or just relax with a good book! Evenings are especially fun roasting marshmallows, hot dogs and making s'mores in the backyard firepit. If you are a fisherman you will surely enjoy a cleaning station with hot & cold running water on both the back & front porch for guests convenience. This is also nice for rinsing off after hot tubbing or playing in the creek! The front porch is set with outdoor lighting draped from the wisteria covered awning. A metal bench and small bistro set frame the entrance to the front door.
As you enter, you are welcomed with vaulted ceilings, exposed rafters and massive beams, showcasing a beautiful hand made sunburst sculpted of woods harvested from the property. Large architectural windows & skylights thoughtfully placed throughout the home maximize the beautiful views and fantastic stargazing opportunities. On the first floor you will find a well appointed kitchen, providing everything you may need to create gourmet or a simpler meal including several cook books. The dining area provides a large table, seating six guests comfortably. There are also two leaves to expand seating for 10 with extra chairs available upon request. Adjacent to the dining area, is the kitchen island which lends seating for three more guests. A large coffee/snack bar is fully stocked with hot beverages/condiments, popcorn & s'more making supplies. The living room features a large wood stove for cozy warmth and romantic ambiance. Comfortable furnishings with plenty of seating are the perfect place to curl up and relax. The oversized vintage wicker rocker placed next to the wood stove is a favorite spot to cozy up with a good book. A special reading nook under the staircase is set up for the little ones to have their very own cozy spot to enjoy. It is furnished with a tiny upholstered rocker, mini table with a carved bear lamp and a boat shaped shelf full of books & games. An 8’ 'oversized sliding glass door maximizes beautiful creek views and access to the deck, backyard & hot tub. Off the living room is the first of three bedrooms. It contains a leather twin size daybed with trundle for extra sleeping and rustic fishing themed furnishings and wall décor. The ground floor bathroom is fully equipped to include bath linens, rugs and toiletries for guests convenience. It features rustic pinecone décor and a newly added tile shower, providing a full bath on the main floor.
A majestic 800 year old juniper tree showcased by custom made spiral staircase and hand forged iron railing, provides access from the living room to the two upstairs bedrooms, complete with ensuite bathrooms. Furnished with comfort & relaxation in mind, you will truly appreciate the décor and amenities provided in this amazing home! The peace and quiet make it a perfect place to detach from the world, and experience true serenity! There is so much to see and explore with hiking trails abound. Golden & Silver Falls is a little over a mile from the property. Coos Bay is just a 45 minute drive from our home, where you may enjoy the beaches, crabbing ,fishing & fresh local seafood markets! Don't forget to check out all the fun antique & thrift shops and all the great restaurants too! You may also want to book a charter for deep sea fishing or whale watching from the nearby little town of Winchester Bay, just a 25 minute drive from Coos Bay.
