Victorian House, guest bedroom is on the loft space. The maximum comfortable height for a guest who is below is six feet 2 inches. The eaves are low so guests are requested to take care.
There is dedicated separate shower room/ toilet, kitchenette/living room area with cooking hob, microwave, fridge and required appliances for comfortable stay.
We live in the property so we will only allow access to the loft room and the stairs. All the other spaces are monitored by security cameras for the safety of ourselves and the guests.
We usually welcome our guests in person. But in case we are not able to, we will send you the instructions on how to get access to your accommodation. And here are a few things we require our guests to know,
1. Please leave your shoes at bottom of the stairs to keep the carpets clean when going up.
2. The house is alarmed at night and which doesn’t effect the shared stairway and guest accommodation. So please refrain from entering any other rooms apart from the designated area for the guests at night; the main entrance, guest accommodation and stairs to the guest accommodation at night. We occupy the rest of the house so please don’t access any other rooms in the house at anytime of the day.
3. If you are cooking in the kitchen area and using oven or cooker, please turn on the extractor hood over the cooker and open the windows wide open. The window clips are on the sides.
4. If you are going out of the house, please leave only living room window slightly open so room is aerated.
5. Guest bedroom eaves windows to be closed when out of the house so that rain water doesn’t get in the room.
6. If you need the heating on please let me know I will turn it on.
7. Please always keep the front door locked and key shut when in and out of the house for everybody’s safety. To open the front door, insert the key and twist to unlock, then pull the lever down and twist the key again to open the door. To lock in from inside pull the handle up and then twist the key to lock the door fully.
8. Wifi is available for the guests. Password will be shared on arrival.
9. Cleaning- We only charge basic fee for cleaning after property is vacated. We would expect our guests to maintain the general cleanliness of the property throughout. All the cleaning products and equipment are provided either in the kitchen or bathroom cabinet. If you are staying longer than a couple of weeks, please make sure all the carpets, surfaces and cooking equipment are cleaned at least once in a week.
10. Please make sure, you dispose of all your unused food, drinks and any other general rubbish. We would require you to take out your own bins out including the ones in the bathroom, bedroom and kitchen. Please dispose it all into the black bin out in front of the house. Recycled items go into the green bin. All the rubbish are collected weekly on Tuesday so please make sure your bins are emptied by Monday evening into the outside bins if your stay is within these days.
11. We don’t have washing machine for the guests. There are laundry service available on the high street.
12. Linen refresh: we will provide you with two sets of bedding and a set of towels per stay if it’s less than a week. If you chose to stay longer than a week and would like to refresh the linen, please ask for the fresh ones and put the used one in a bag and hand it to us for washing.
13. Checkout time is 11am. We do have another booking on the same day so please ensure we can access the rooms right after 11am on the day so that we can get it ready for our next guests.
14. On-street Parking- If you arrive after 6:30pm on weekdays there will be no parking charges for that day and weekends are free. If you need parking permit please let us know on arrival. The parking permits are payable on arrival or before via bank payment or cash, £10/day. Please let us know your car registration on arrival asap to avoid any penalty charges. We are not responsible for your car in any shape or form. Please note, the safety and security of your car is down to you. We are not responsible for any loss, we are just facilitating guest parking on the street.
15. Any major loss or damage to our property caused by the guests will be charged to the guests. So, please be cautious!
16. We are not responsible for guests belongings. We do however take extra care of making the house safe. We have security cameras and security systems around the house which deters the intruders.
17. Please close the doors of your rooms when you are in and out of it. This reduces sound and provides the privacy for all of us. Especially during the night and the quiet hours between 11pm-8am.
