McCaysville River House is a rare find on the banks of the Toccoa River! This unique and newly remolded river cottage has a front porch with wicker porch furniture with windows all around, the living room has a comfortable sleeper sofa, love seat and 48” TV with cable. The house also boasts 2 King Bedrooms; all one level living! Outside the dining room is a large deck with an outside table, a wood-burning fireplace and lots of comfortable deck/lounge furniture right on the banks of the river.
The home is a short walk to downtown McCaysville GA/Copperhill, TN, The RiverWalk indoor mall, unique downtown shops, local restaurants, breweries, minutes from rafting and tubing or maybe you embrace your adventurous spirit and raft the site of the 1996 white water Olympics class five Ocoee River just a few miles away.

Summary: This is an older house that's been updated. The floors are a bit unlevel as expected some older houses, but the house was updated nicely. Inside the house & furniture was comfortable and decently clean. The exterior of the house & yard could have used a bit of maintenance. We were there in May just before the peak season started, so maybe the "spring cleaning" outside had not been done yet. There is a very nice size deck with plenty of patio furniture, but the cushions could have used some clean-up. The gutters needed to be cleaned out as there were tiny trees growing there, and it did rain some off and on, so the rain spilled over the gutters. There was a brand new looking gas grill that worked well. We would have preferred if the grass had been mowed as it was a little higher than we were comfortable walking around in but not terrible. The flower beds in the back were overgrown with weeds & vines leaning across the walkway. The location was perfect for walking into McCaysville or to some tube/kayak rental places or for driving as it is on a main road. There was a lack of communication with Cuddle Up Cabin Rentals that was managing the house. Had to call the after-hours number. I received a text back from the answering service that they got the message and notified maintenance, but I did not ever hear from anyone. I had also called the city and did get help from them. Overall the visit was nice. We would consider staying here again.
