If Priest Lake (the crown jewel of Idaho) is new to you…..it is a truly beautiful area, not overly-developed like some lakes can be, and beloved by many residents and repeat visitors. If you are looking for a lake place close to shopping and a busy nearby town, it is NOT the best fit. If you are looking to relax and get-away-from-it-all while surrounded by gorgeous nature, Priest Lake is the one for you!
For those returning to Priest Lake as well as experiencing it for the first time........as many of you know, the rental market is fairly high demand, low supply. People do book summer rentals quite early.
Our "cabin" - built in 2008 - is charming, diligently kept up, very clean, and comfortable (two king beds, a queen bed, and the bunkbeds). Having three full bathrooms makes a world of difference when there is more than one family. You will see that our place is not exactly one of those lavish homes with marble countertops, brand new modern furniture, a TV in every room, air conditioning, and sandy beaches (naturally, they are priced accordingly). However, there are so many reasons that multiple repeat renters say our cabin is like "home," and keep coming back.
The kitchen and living room are connected, making one spacious gathering room with fantastic lake views (and wood stove). There is also a game room with TV for DVD watching. Full deck off gathering room and master bedroom offers perfect spot for meals and enjoying views.
*Use of boat lift included (Please ask for boat size specifications and mooring options. The lift has no cover by design. We recommend bringing your own boat cover).
*Use of 2 kayaks, a canoe, and a pedal boat included.
*Use of propane grill included.
*Water mat anchored and ready for fun.
*Deep water and ladder at end of dock - perfect for diving.
*Outside area right next to cabin for possible bocce ball, cornhole beanbag toss and other activities.
*Free WiFi is included.
*Portable desk with adjustable height included (can be used in any room).
*Baby gates, Pack N Play "crib," baby monitor, baby chair with tray.
*TV with DVD capability only (no cable).
*Elkins resort/restaurant is a quick boat ride across the lake from the cabin. Hills is also a fairly quick boat ride away, and Cavanaugh's is 10 minutes by car, quicker by boat.
*Trash pick-up (private service) included with weekly+ rentals when available (there is no residential trash collection at Priest Lake, so dump visits are required for many rentals).
*No need to bring drinking water as needed for many other Priest Lake rentals (we have a filtering system installed).
Our family and several repeat renters believe our cabin is a wonderful place to visit. It usually books up early. However, we would like to note a few things that will help set your expectations just in case it is NOT a fit for your needs:
* The shore along this area of the lake is rocky (not sandy).
* There is NO air conditioning (although ceiling fans in master and great room, and tower fans throughout).
* There are several stairs between the parking area and the cabin, as well as the cabin and the lake (please see pictures).
* The restriction on the number of people occupying the cabin/property (12 max whether daytime or nighttime) and the no pets policy are strictly enforced and non-negotiable. The cabin is not suitable for parties or gatherings exceeding 12 people.
* There is limited parking for only three vehicles.
* There are quiet hours from 10pm - 9am in respect of our long-time lake neighbors.
* Outside security cameras are solely for visual (no audio) monitoring outside the property, covering the two entry points (the parking area and the dock area). There are absolutely no cameras inside the property and the security cameras do not cover any parts of the cabin itself.
* Because we try to avoid adding the extra cost of a linen service to the rental rates, renters are responsible for washing/drying all beach towels and 2/3 of regular towels before departure.
* Signed Rental Agreement (a draft of which we are happy to provide beforehand) required to secure the Vrbo booking.
FLOOR LAYOUT (1950 sq. ft.) -- ideal for no more than 6 adults and no more than 6 children who fit comfy in bunk beds.
UPSTAIRS (Enter on this floor) Sleeps 4 total:
* Primary bedroom one SLEEPS 2 (king bed)
w/ full bathroom #1;
* Bedroom two SLEEPS 2 (queen bed);
* Small TV non-sleeping room;
* Full bathroom #2; and
* The "great room" (kitchen/living room combo).
DOWNSTAIRS Sleeps up to 8 total:
* Bedroom three SLEEPS 2 (king bed);
* Small laundry room;
* Full bathroom #3; and
* Bedroom four (bunkroom) SLEEPS 6 very cozy in bunk beds.
WE ENCOURAGE A PHONE CALL BEFORE BOOKING
Renting any lodging (this cabin is our second home) for a whole week or longer is no small thing, especially since we are noticing that most people commit to booking over a year in advance. We encourage you to hit the "contact host" or "contact via inbox" button BEFORE hitting the "request to book" button (we personally wouldn't bother with the Vrbo "chat now" button as it will just connect you with a Vrbo representative who is looking at the exact same online listing that you are - they don't have any more information beyond what we've already listed here). If you are close to certain that you want to book the cabin, please let us know in your inquiry, so we can hold the reservation for you (no obligation) for a short time in case we cannot connect right away. This allows us to first have a call and thoroughly answer any questions or address any concerns, while making sure our cabin is a great fit for you.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
Please ignore the Vrbo note on our Cancellation Policy -- it is incorrect. Vrbo does not provide an option that matches our Rental Agreement (or provide the ability to delete that portion of the listing).
The Actual Cancellation Policy as stated in the signed Rental Agreement: 8. Cancellation Policy and Request for Changes to the Dates of the Reservation: A reservation is defined as the entire period between check-in and check-out (noted in section No. 1). If needed, partial or entire reservation cancellations can be initiated by Tenant via the Vrbo portal. Provisions in this paragraph will apply to both full and partial cancellations. Reservation dates canceled more than 60 days BEFORE arrival entitle renter to a refund of any rental payment exceeding the reservation fee.* If reservation dates are canceled within 60 days of check-in, the tenant will forfeit 100% of the rental payment, taxes, and fees (damage deposits will be refunded). Refunds will be considered if Landlord’s family is unable to utilize canceled reservations, and then only if Landlord is able to re-rent the premises for all of the dates canceled. Notwithstanding any contrary provision hereunder, under no circumstances shall all or any portion of the reservation fee* (defined below) be refunded in the event of any canceled dates. Vrbo is solely responsible for potential refunds of taxes, PDP payments, and its service fee. Please note: our Vrbo settings of "no refunds" along with the non-refundable reservation fee could impact Vrbo's service fee, taxes, and PDP refunds in the event the reservation is canceled.
*The nonrefundable reservation fee is $600 with the exception of rental contracts with nightly minimums that result in 25% of the rental payment being less than $600 in which case the reservation fee is 25% of the rental payment.
Request for Changes to the Dates of the Reservation: Tenant can request changes to the dates of their reservation and/or additional dates - depending on availability - via the Vrbo portal.

Summary: The home is decorated well, perfectly supplied, and extremely clean! Very comfortable as the furnishings weren’t brand new but still in great shape with a lake vibe. There were many little touches that we appreciated: books, puzzles, games, CD’s, lots of appliances, lots of bath linens, (including beach towels), and even a welcome gift for us to take home! Owner was responsive and gave excellent advice and recommendations. Wonderful experience 10 out of 10!! . Only a couple items I’ll mention to give future renters a heads up, beach access is via quite a few stairs, (typical for this side of the lake), and the deck off the back patio is leaning slightly due to the pier posts settling, (very minor), we work in construction and can assure you the deck is structurally sound but thought we’d share so you know what to expect. Highly recommend checking out this property!! An absolute gem!
