In the beautiful Val d’Orcia, surrounded by rolling hills, this 19th-century farmhouse makes an ideal holiday base. Guests can choose whether to relax by the pool or explore the delights of southern Tuscany.
The house, which sleeps 12 people, has been beautifully restored and divided into 3 flats, each with its own bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchenette. On the ground floor, there is a larger communal kitchen and living/dining area where guests can come together. The living area has a large open fireplace and two stylish sofas, plus a flatscreen TV. It is next to the open-plan kitchen, which is well equipped with a cooker hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and coffee machine. There are two large dining tables set down the middle of the room, under a charming arch, so that guests can eat together in comfort.
The outdoor space has been arranged with as much care as the interiors. The swimming pool area has sun loungers and parasols where guests can relax after a refreshing dip. There is a shaded dining area close to the pool and another pergola nearer to the house, where guests can relax or dine al fresco. The garden has other areas for reading, relaxing and enjoying the peace and quiet, including an enchanting vine-covered pergola with a sofa and chairs. There is a swing for children and an outdoor dining area with a BBQ.

Each of the 6 bedrooms is luxuriously appointed with a double bed, wardrobe and a selection of delightful antique furniture.
Bathrooms
Each bedroom has its own bathroom which is luxuriously appointed with either a shower or a full bath with a showerhead, basin, bidet and WC.

Location
The farmhouse is located on the ancient pilgrimage route which linked Rome to Santiago de Compostella in Spain. The area is steeped in history, with beautiful Medieval and Rennaissance towns such as San Quirico d’Orcia, Bagno Vignoni and Castiglione di’Orcia all less than 10km away. Further afield is Pienza (25 minutes), famous for its palaces as well as its pecorino cheese. Siena is an hour away, and every year on July 2 and August 16, the world\'s most famous medieval joust \'Il Palio di Siena\' is run.
Wine lovers should not miss the towns of Montalcino and Montepulciano (both 30 minutes) where you can taste and buy the famous wines directly from the producers.
There are excellent restaurants throughout the region, but if guests are keen to cook for themselves, the local markets are not to be missed. Castiglione d’Orcia’s weekly market is on Saturday.
