An excellent opportunity to get back to basics having a country experience. Come and relax, enjoy the bush tranquillity and take in the rural views and the clean country air. Do as much or as little as you like. Ideal for a family or a couple's retreat.
This secluded homely cottage is tucked into tall timbers and is all yours for your stay. It offers a fully equipped kitchen/dining, three bedrooms, one bathroom/toilet and lounge room with an open wood fire. The cottage can comfortably accommodate up to 4 adults and 4 children. It has a queen bed in the main bedroom, bunk bed (2 singles), a single bed, plus trundle in the adjoining children's room, plus a double bed in the third bedroom. Additional guests incur an additional charge of $30 each per night. Games, DVD's and books provided, plus all linen and towels, so all you need to bring is your food.
In the winter bring your wellies and marshmallows and toast them on the outdoor campfire (check with farmer Ray for seasonal fire restrictions). Or, you can take a hike in the nearby Berry Reserve, which has a winter/spring waterfall. Also, you can visit Noble Falls where the children can enjoy the playground, have a BBQ or just enjoy a pub lunch at the Noble Falls Tavern across the road, or the Parkerville Tavern. On a blustery day just enjoy a cosy log fire indoors.
Lilly Pilly Cottage has an air-conditioner for those hot summer days, enjoy the balmy evenings outdoors and barbecue on the patio overlooking the Australian bush. Bring your torch and at night, spot the possum, other nocturnals or just take a stroll and look for a kangaroo. Bring your bathers and go for a short drive to beautiful Lake Leschenaultia, there you can spend the day and canoe, swim, picnic or barbeque in the shaded grassed areas overlooking this vast lake.
Find peace, tranquillity and relaxation and have fun. Some view the location as the most well-kept secret in the Perth Hills. Gidgegannup is between the Swan & Avon Valleys - enjoy a pleasant 50-minute scenic drive from Perth city for your West Australian country holiday experience and just 40 minutes to the beautiful town of Toodyay.
February or March is when our Shiraz grapes are hand-picked and crushed for the new vintage. After the grapes are picked, we celebrate the harvest by enjoying a smorgasbord of food and a taste of last year's vintage.

Gidgegannup Village - 5 minutes away - offers an excellent bakery/cafe`.There's also a fast- food outlet (fish-n-chips, pizza and hamburgers), a liquor store and medical centre. Visit Experience Gidgegannup website for more tourist information.
Berry Reserve - 1000 acres of native bush, with a brook and seasonal waterfall - it's ideal for picnics & bush walks, just 5 minutes away on Reen Road. In August and September, the wildflowers put on a spectacular display.
Visit historic towns nearby including Toodyay which sits alongside the Avon River and was home to the notorious bushranger Moondyne Joe. Toodyay is also renowned for its bakery/pies/pasties, and its all year Xmas shop. Or you can lunch at the beautifully renovated Victoria Hotel for a gourmet pub meal. With a rich history Toodyay hosts many tourist attractions so visit the Visitors Centre so you don't miss any treasures.
Noble Falls - picnic or BBQ (provided free of charge), a playground plus a seasonal water-fall - 10min east on Toodyay Road. There is also a Tavern across from the Falls that's open seven days from 11 am till late. It offers pub food for lunch or dinner from the 2 Fat Chefs, or you can just pop in for a refreshment or a coffee and just enjoy the excellent views from the Verandah.
Mundaring Village -15 minutes away - has two large supermarkets and various cafes and restaurants. Visit the Mundaring Visitor's Centre online for more information.
Lake Leschenaultia - 20 minutes away in Chidlow - is a huge lake with grassed, shaded areas for picnics or a BBQ (provided free of charge) and white sand beach entries on both sides of the lake. It has a playground as well as a biking and hiking trail around the lake. Canoe hire and a cafe` are open in summer on weekends, public and school holidays. Swan Valley - 15 minutes west - hosts a large variety of vineyards, wineries, cafe`s and restaurants. Visit the Swan Valley Visitors Centre online for more information.
Caversham Wildlife Park, a popular tourist destination - 20 minutes away in the Swan Valley - where you hand-feed the kangaroos, have a photo taken with the koalas and close-up encounters with other Australian native animals. Bring a picnic, stay for the whole day and enjoy the hands-on experience and the shows which are included in your admission fee.
