Follow in the footsteps of King Edward VIII and enjoy a relaxing holiday in this historical, characterful country house. The Grade II listed hall lies within the heart of the Pennine District South Yorkshire, surrounded by stunning countryside yet located close to major cities and towns.
Noblethorpe Hall has beautiful views across the area, with many original features retained. The Hall comfortably sleeps 11 people with plentiful space to socialise & relax, plus a games & cinema room.
When you arrive in Silkstone you'll enter the estate and drive up to Noblethorpe Hall via a long meandering drive. The impressive Hall has plenty of parking outside.
Once you enter you will experience the feeling of space and grandeur. The original grand staircase, the original stone floor, the ornate cornices and beautiful wood features on the doors.
*Morning Room*
Delightful room which is often filled with sunlight, lots of comfy seating and a perfect spot to read a book, enjoy a coffee, have a chat. We have books & board games available for guests use.
*Dining Room*
A formal room which is rarely used but takes you back to a time when the Lord of the Manor would have had his food served in this grand room.
*Sitting Room*
A dramatic room with outstanding architectural features such as the cornice and fireplace. Plenty of comfortable sofas and a large TV for the family to enjoy. Relax in this room and enjoy all spending time together.
*Kitchen & Dining*
The kitchen is the heart of the Hall, where you can gather round the large table and enjoy a hearty meal or a good catch up. There is a wonderful gas fire which is so cosy in the winter, a large oven with a gas hob and electrical ovens, a dishwasher. The kitchen is fully stocked for cooking a meal.
*Downstairs WC*
Just off the main hallway there is a WC and basin.
*Utility Room*
Guests are free to use the washing machine, tumble dryer, iron and ironing board. We hope you'd rather be relaxing on your holiday but is there if you need it.
*Cinema and Games Room*
Photos to follow. Currently undergoing a lick of paint, in the cellar you can play bar billiards, table football, or set-up a cinema evening. The cellar is a fascinating labyrinth of rooms, with many original features. We do advise that children are fully supervised in the cellar.
UPSTAIRS
We have 6 rooms ready for guests.
*King Edward VIII Room*
A gigantic space, this room is the master bedroom. Decorated with gorgeous antique furniture and special ornaments you will certainly feel like a King in this room. There is an ensuite which has a jacuzzi bath, plus a seperate shower.
*Sir Lancelot Room*
Another enormous room, so much space to relax and enjoy. Plenty of room to store your clothes and make your self at home. This room also has an ensuite with a beautiful roll top bath, separate shower and double sink setup.
*The Closet*
Situated between the other two rooms is a perfect little single room, named the closet because of the inbuilt wardrobes this little room is a quiet little haven.
*The French Flowers*
A French inspired decor, boasting a king bed and ample wardrobe storage this delicately furnished room is warm, cosy and peaceful. The ensuite has a bath with a shower over the bath.
*The Tartan Room*
A four poster bed dominates this room, guaranteeing a peaceful nights sleep. The ensuite has a feature roll top bath in the spacious and grand bathroom.
*The Grey Room*
Sleeps 2 people - final set up TBA
*Family Bathroom*
Enormous family bathroom which can be used by the guests staying in The Closet and The Grey Room. This bathroom has a bath, basin and WC.
Guests have full and private access to the main living spaces downstairs & the bedroom floor on the first floor.
At the rear of the property is a second staircase which is in use by the owner or the housekeeper. This is not to be used by guests. This staircase leads to the second floor/attic rooms which is where the owner resides when in residence. The attic floor is private and not to be used by guests.
Shared access to the hallway which leads to the cellar and downstairs WC.
The owner often travels but when in residence lives in the attic rooms, giving guests full access to the main living areas of the Hall. The outside space is extensive and guests can expect full use of this space, they may occasionally have the odd friendly wave from the owner if he is in residence.
If Lance, the owner, is in residence he is available should you need him. He will ensure you have full and private run of the house and grounds but if you'd like advise or information then catch him for a chat.
If Lance is out of the country then we do have a Housekeeper who lives in the local village and can be called upon should you need.
We are currently setting up The Grey Room and will update with photos shortly. The same applies to the cinema and games room.
NOBLETHORPE HALL STANDS PROUDLY IN THE VILLAGE OF
SILKSTONE BETWEEN BARNSLEY AND PENISTONE WITH AN EASE OF ACCESS TO THE M1 MOTORWAY JUST BEING A 7/8MINUTE DRIVE AWAY. THE MAINLINE STATION OF SILKSTONE COMMON IS A 30 MINUTE WALK AND TAKES YOU DIRECTLY TO THE MAJOR CITIES IN THE AREA.
The property is set in 19 acres with ancient woodland and grassland for you to explore, you can also hike along the Pennine foothills and enjoy the beautiful Yorkshire countryside.
The village of Silkstone is only a short walk and you will find local shops and pubs serving food. Great days out can be had at Wentworth Castle, Canon Hall Farm and the Whistle Stop Valley.
