This 4 bd / 3.5 ba cottage, inspired by hygge, is the perfect retreat for families and small groups looking to escape to a Up North paradise!
It sits 2 miles north of Elk Rapids, between Torch Lake and Lake Michigan, and features 70 feet of frontage on Birch Lake; a beautiful all-sports inland lake.
Here, guests will be within striking distance of Northern Michigan's best attractions: Torch Lake, The Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lake Shore, downtown Traverse City, and even Mackinaw Island.
This home was built in the summer of 2023 and was created with guest convenience and spaciousness in mind; the home is very 'hygge'.
For those unfamiliar with hygge: it's a Danish cultural term that roughly translates to cozy, yet symbolizes togetherness, making memories, comfort, and joy; all of which we hope to help our guests experience during their stay at the Dandelion Cottage!
The main floor has multiple bathrooms, the main bedroom, a large open floor plan featuring a living room, kitchen, and dining room, as well as a gorgeous view of Birch Lake through the sliding doors that exits to the porch.
The upper floor has an additional 3 bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms, a large open living space and storage room. Two of the bedrooms have views of the lakefront, while the third is larger and faces the front yard; are well lit with natural light.
Outside there is 70 feet of lake frontage, a good sized beach and yard, as well as a storage shed, porch/deck, and fire pit.
Finally, there is an attached garage that guests are welcomed to use during their stay with two parking spaces included; 2 - 3 additional parking spaces are available in the driveway.
Guests will have full access to the home, with the exception being the upstairs storage and mechanicals closet - which will be clearly label as "Private".
You host will be available via the booking app at all times, but it's highly unlikely that you'll meet him in person. He's happy to help with any trip recommendations, issues that occur at the house, or to answer any questions you've got about the accommodations, area, or your booking.
The home is in part of the Birch Lake Association, a small lakeside community dedicated to preserving the natural beauty of the area, as well as to creating an inviting family environment.
Located nearby Elk Rapids, and within a mile of East Grand Traverse Bay and short drive to Torch Lake and Elk Lake, it's an ideal place for small groups and families to experience the best parts of being Up North.
Guests need their own transportation. Also, there are 2 - 3 parking spaces in our driveway and a 2 car garage.
There is a noise detection device located on the main floor in the living room. Please be aware that it does not record anything but rather it simply detects noise levels, temperature, humidity, and the number of connected devices. It will alert the host if decibels stay consistently over 75 (approximately the level of a vacuum cleaner) for longer than 10 minutes.
In short, it is a party prevention device but it is not a recording device.
Also, the front door is equipped with a Ring door bell camera, and the back deck/yard is monitored by a Ring camera; there are no cameras or other recording devices on the property.
