Welcome to The Fine Pine, your Upstate Place! A bright and contemporary getaway just 90 minutes from New York City. The house is beautifully located on the hill near multiple famous hiking trails, i.e Sam’s Point, Gertrud’s Nose. Guests can take an early morning or sunset stroll to Bear Hill Nature Reserve, and 10 minutes further to Cragsmoor’s Stone Church overlooking the mountains. You can also just enjoy a peaceful and secluded time with your family and friends at the property with a fully equipped kitchen, outside grill, expansive deck and fireplace with adirondack chairs surrounded by 4 acres of forest.
Restaurants, shops, and the Minnewaska State Park are all a short under 10-minute drive away.
The house itself is on two levels and is “flipped” around. The main level is the upper level, offering a fully stocked kitchen with built in seating. Adjacent is the large, vaulted living and dining room with floor to ceiling stone fireplace and access to the full wrap around expansive deck with multiple places for dining and lounging. Also on this level is the principal (king) bedroom with an ensuite bathroom with a deep tub and separate spacious shower.
The lower level has another den, used as a bright, private office with large screen television. Patio doors in this room also give access to the 4-acre garden. This floor has a further two bedrooms; one has a queen bed and its own ensuite bathroom with shower, the other has twin beds and uses the hallway bathroom which has a bath / shower combo. On this level is the laundry, fully available for guest use.
Outside is the wooded and private lot, offering an immersive experience in the nature of the area. There is also a lovely fire pit with plenty of seating.
Sam’s Point Preserve, famous for its never-ending views, Lake Maratanza, the Ellenville Fault Ice Caves, and the bustling little town of Ellenville are all nearby and offer great options for exploring.

As Upstate New York can see its’ fair share of inclement weather, please know we do not assume responsibility for utility outages during your stay. If electric, water or Wi-Fi service is impacted, we do not refund. Of course, if an outage were to persists for longer than 8 hours we would allow a cancellation without penalty.
CHECK OUT INSTRUCTIONS:
• Please make sure you take out the trash, this helps with smells and preventing creatures from wanting to come in to the house.
• If used dishes, we ask you place them in the dishwasher and hit start.
• Please extinguish all fires and fuels, inside and out, and cover the BBQ once cooled.
• In winter, please make sure the heat is turned down to 60*
• In summer, please make sure the AC is left at 70*
• Upon departure, please make sure all lights are turned off and all exterior doors are locked
