In the countryside on a quiet lane, just 8 miles from Launceston, this wonderfully homely cottage offers a peaceful retreat for friends and family alike, along with up to four dogs. The home provides direct access to scenic walks along the Tamara Trail which has a rich natural environment teeming with wildlife. A short drive leads to the dramatic landscapes of Bodmin Moor (16 miles), the Tamar Valley (20 miles), and Dartmoor National Park (17 miles). For those looking for golden sands and a chance to sunbathe, Bude’s sandy shores are 17 miles away, while picturesque fishing villages such as Boscastle (20 miles) and Tintagel (22 miles) and Port Isaac (28 miles) offer charming seaside escapes. Other highlights include Launceston’s historic Norman castle (8 miles), and a variety of National Trust properties, all within easy reach.
As you step into this homely cottage, you will soon notice the blend of both contemporary and original features which sets this home apart from many others alongside the uninterrupted views across to Dartmoor. You enter directly into the heart of the home where exposed beams and warm lighting draw you into the kitchen/diner. This kitchen area hosts all the appliances needed for a stress-free stay, with a working Rayburn being the highlight for those colder months. There is also plenty of room for all guests to sit around the dining table and enjoy a hearty meal. Making your way into the lounge, you will find a mixture of comfortable seating, plenty enough for all to sit back and relax in front of the warming wood burner on those chillier evenings. You’re even treated to a Smart TV to view all your favourite films in the process. As the night draws in, head upstairs to find the bedroom of your choice, all with vaulted ceilings and views across Dartmoor. Two bedrooms host king-size beds, both with plenty of wardrobe space. One has the added benefit of an en-suite shower room. Both rooms contain French doors leading out into their own secluded terraces, with direct access to the gardens. There is also a twin room. Finally, to complete the upstairs and this wonderful home is the family bathroom which has a Jack and Jill entrance, complete with a walk-in rain shower and a slipper bath. Relax back and soak in the tub whilst enjoying the countryside views through the open window.
Heading outside, guests and four-pawed friends have plenty of space to roam, set in 0.4 acres of private grounds. There is an incredibly spacious lawn with choices of outdoor seating and a rope swing. There is also private parking for up to three cars.
