If a fabulous lake view with sand for kids to play along the water (Chain Lake) is at the top of your list, then you are in luck! The Lucky Loon Cottage permeates a feeling of nostalgia for native Michiganders like ourselves and brings you back to your grandparent's cottage along a Northern Michigan lake. Cabin boasts a rustic charm and is ideal for most guests. You can feel the history and embrace the possibilities here at Lucky Loon.
You can welcome family fun with sand, kayaks, a canoe, and a row boat. Even your family pet is welcome here, though we do not have a fenced yard. The new stove/oven and refrigerator make it convenient to cook your meals together, plus sit at the retro kitchen table on the dining side of the living room. The living room and kitchen together provide a true open concept in the small space. You can watch TV, prepare dinner, or kick your feet up, all within easy sight and distance. All while looking out at Chain Lake.
Knotty pine surrounds you at the cozy Lucky Loon Cottage. Enjoy your Queen bed in one bedroom. The kids will love the bunk bed (twin over double) in their own room too. This unassuming lakefront cottage along Chain Lake is sure to melt your heart and give you the space to soak in time together.
...And if you are lucky, you will hear the loons calling for their mate in the spring, or yodeling at night, as you cook your s'mores around the campfire.

Parking: Three cars + a trailer can fit on the property
Pets: Up to two dogs may join you during your stay! Freshwater Vacation Rentals currently charges $75/per pet for your entire stay. Yes, we do accept dogs, yet we do ask that you please clean up after them both inside and outside the cabin. Plus, if you allow them on the furniture, we do ask that you please bring your own linens/blankets for them to sleep on. Just let us know which bed you will be using with them, and we'll make sure it is ready for your sheets when you arrive. Plus, if the pet hair starts to build, we do ask that you please run the vacuum. Generally, dogs love the water and places to explore. Pet food does tend to attract mice, so vigilance is needed.
Privacy: There are neighbors on both sides
Snowmobiles: a person (resident and nonresident) that operates a snowmobile in Michigan is required to purchase a snowmobile trail permit. The trail permit enables snowmobilers to ride state-designated trails and thousands more miles of public roads and on public lands (where authorized). It is valid for one year, which begins Oct. 1 and ends Sept. 30 of the following year. State-designated trails are open Dec. 1-March 31 and grooming occurs when there is enough snow on the ground.
