Come and enjoy a relaxing getaway in this well appointed house on private Guernsey Lake. Spend your days swimming, fishing, kayaking, and hiking, or opt for something mellower, like a nap in the hammock, or a little bird watching from the shady tree deck. Whatever you decide to do, we're sure you'll find the peace and tranquility you're yearning for.
THE SPACE:
The house sleeps six comfortably, in beds with new mattresses and 400 thread count sheets. We provide all the basics, including soap, shampoo, conditioner, and towels. There are three bedrooms, containing a king size bed, a full bed, and a bunk bed respectively.
There’s a table and chairs in the kitchen, and seats along the island counter for indoor eating, but you’ll probably enjoy most meals on the upper deck, where there’s dining space for six and a gas grill.
The kitchen is equipped with everything you need for meal prep and eating, including silverware, plates and bowls, serving dishes, and drinkware. We provide pots and pans, and casserole dishes, along with olive oil, butter, salt and pepper, and basic seasonings. We also provide a selection of hot drinks, like coffee, tea, and hot cocoa.
The lower deck is equipped with comfy lounging furniture, and the sky deck (built high up around a poplar tree in the yard) offers four adirondack chairs in the shade.) The upper deck hosts the grill and the outdoor dining area. All three decks offer wonderful views of the lake.
GUEST ACCESS:
The whole house and the entire yard is yours while you're here. The driveway is private and has room for at least four cars on site. We're at the end of a very short and very quiet street, so there's hardly any traffic. The property is bordered on the right by trees and a creek, by the lake at the back, by fields in front, and only has one neighbor to the left. It's a very peaceful space, with lots of privacy (although please note, the yard is not fenced in.)
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE:
Our family friendly lake house also boasts amazing opportunities to interact with nature. Between the turtles sunning themselves on the beach, a myriad of birds, and the muskrats that live on the little islands just off shore, there’s lots to see and enjoy. Kids will also love the trampoline, playing in the sand on the beach, roasting marshmallows over a fire, or swinging on the swings.

Spend the day fishing, swimming or kayaking on the lake (we provide four kayaks and life jackets). In the evening, retreat back to the house for a meal and an evening of movies or games. We provide loads of movie options (there are lots of DVDs and a DVD player, plus we also provide access to several streaming services), along with a big selection of fun board games, lawn games, and puzzles.
Real talk: Our lake house isn't glamorous. But it is clean, welcoming, comfortable, and very relaxing. Our family loves it, and we've made wonderful memories together every time we've come out here. The carpet has a few stains, and a couple of the kitchen cabinet doors are a little crooked. But none of those things diminish how much fun we have together. If you're looking for something super classy or "high end", this probably isn't the place for you. But if you're looking for a comfy, well appointed space to relax in with your loved ones, we hope you'll consider making our house your lakeside home away from home.
