Little Well was converted from an old milking parlour into a charming cosy cabin set in idyllic and peaceful grounds 2 miles from Slapton village.
With distant views of the sea and surrounded by beautiful South Hams countryside, it's a great location for a family holiday or a relaxing getaway and dogs are welcomed too. Slapton is a pretty village with ancient narrow streets leading down to the sea and is only a 20min drive to Dartmouth, Kingsbridge and Totnes.
Little Well is located in the grounds of Alston Well and is a detached private annex to the converted barn where the owners Katie & Nick live.
It is well equipped and has an open plan living area, modern bathroom, two bedrooms and two toilets. Towels, bedding, soap and cleaning products are provided. Please bring your own beach towels.
The sleeping platform in the second bedroom is great fun for children (stair gate available) and can be converted into a king size double for adults (N.B. restricted head height 135cm). Outside is a patio for your exclusive use - perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine in the evening and al fresco dining. You also have use of the orchard and paddock, which is just under 2 acres. Dogs are very welcome (£20/dog per stay - max 2 dogs, payable during your stay) and in addition to free running in the paddock there are a number of long and short walks straight from the door.
We provide fresh homemade evening meals on request, catering for most diets with a range of delicious dishes. The evening meals are very popular as an alternative to eating out, either on day of arrival or after long days on the beach or exploring. Let us know if you're interested in seeing the menu and we'll send it to you ahead of your stay.
Little Well has a modern log burning stove with firewood provided free of charge, Firestick TV, a large selection of board games, DVDs and books for those days when you just want to chill out and relax!
Like many properties in the area our water supply is from a spring fed well (hence the name Little Well). This means we get fantastic water which is filtered and regularly tested to ensure high quality drinking water.
Other things to note:
The second bedroom has a sleeping platform with restricted headroom and accessed via steep steps (see photos). Let us know if you'd like it made up with twin beds or a king sized double and if you'd like a stair gate at the top.
Alternatively there is a sofa bed in the living area if the sleeping platform is unsuitable.
Little Well has good Wi-Fi, however the mobile phone signal is poor - it works perfectly if you have wifi calling on your phone, otherwise a walk to the end of the drive may be necessary to get reception!
Bath towels are provided but please bring beach towels.
