About this space
This cottage has lots of space & is a favourite for families or reunions. Even large groups will find they have room for private time and group hang outs.
The river is slow moving and warm in the summer months but too cold and fast for swimming or boating in the off season (usually Nov-May).
No development across the river and neighbours two lots away on either side makes for a private and quiet experience.
A games room, board games, wii & gym space give you lots to do on rainy days.
The space
Welcome to Crowe River Country Home! Recently described as "beyond perfect" for large groups, you'll enjoy from a variety of newly installed amenities including an outdoor hot tub, dry sauna, gym and two propane fireplaces. Indulge in friendly competition with the air hockey table, ping pong, Wii or have some family fun with board games and puzzles provided.
The road is short and relatively straight with only slight inclines or declines making it an accessible drive in the winter though snow tires are recommended. The river flow can be fast during the spring (April through May) and it is not recommend you use the boats during that time. In the summer (usually beginning early June) the river flow is quite calm and is safe for swimming and boating. There is a small dam just downstream of our cottage however it does not impede swimming and boating during slow flow seasons.
Well behaved dogs are welcome but please let us know you're bringing them!

Any and all of the space is usable for guests.
Other things to note
The river is slow moving (after the spring melt beginning in June) and is about 4-5 feet deep off the dock. There is a ladder to access the water but please NO DIVING as the bottom is rocky. No weeds and lots of privacy make it a lovely swim :)
We also have a direct propane BBQ accessible through the kitchen walkout.
In the basement there is an air hockey table, foosball, vintage arcade game and pingpong.
Some things to keep in mind:
-Like many country homes, we are on a well system. As such, it's important to be mindful not to run water too long as is the cases with back to back showers, running the hose or leaving a toilet running. We are confident that the water levels will be fine even for larger groups if you are mindful of your use.
-We can park approximately 6 small to medium cars. The driveway holds 4 small to medium cars and the RV parking spot can hold two more. It is important NOT to park in the laneway as it blocks the snow plow or graveler that maintains the roads. Please plan to use the designated parking spaces for vehicles. No parking on the lawn as our septic tank is located there
-The relationships we have with our neighbours allows us to keep offering the cottage for rentals. Please respect our neighbours and the county noise curfew of 11pm and the no fireworks bylaw.
-Since we are on a private road, we do not have curb side garbage pickup. Tenants are responsible for bringing their waste to the drop off centre 5 min away
-tenants required to bring top and fitted sheets, pillow cases and towels
