The Studio is a duplex unit just below a Joglo, with the same sized “footprint” but offset so that the studio terrace has equal portions of sun and shade. With a 30 square meter terrace to dine on, view the sunset, or just relax after a bath or shower, the Studio has all the amenities as the Joglo above, such as a king size bed, complete kitchen facilities, 2 showers, full stone bathtub, 40” TV, ethnic artworks, acacia desk and chair, full ocean view, floor to ceiling sliding glass doors……all surrounded by luxurious gardens that exude the sense of privacy we prize at Karuna. It has luxury finishing such as Javanese stone and hardwood flooring, marble sinks and countertops, crowned by 3.2 meter high ceilings, sadly no carved “tumpang sari”. For guests who have a third person in their party, an additional super twin bed (110 cm wide) can be provided.

Neighborhood overview
Corong Corong, where Karuna El Nido is located, is the next Barangay to the south of El Nido. We are line of sight 200m away from the ocean, up in the hills. Corong Corong was previously a sleepy satellite of El Nido town with mostly small native resorts.
This is changing rapidly since 3 years with new establishments, hip restaurants like Altrove, Therry’s Burger, Piggy’s bar, Stunning Republic, live music and entertainment. Dive operations like Submariner are also located right in Corong Corong for all your scuba diving needs.
Getting around
To get around in El Nido you have various options.
1. Most guests ride with the tricycle for a few Pesos wherever they want to go close by.
2. For trips a bit further like Nacpan beach you might want to rent a van.
3. We at Karuna offer you our own van rental, ask at frondesk
4. We rent on a daily basis our scooters
5. We rent out two private cars on a daily basis
If taking a mini van from Puerto Princesa airport, instruct the van driver to let you down at Corong Corong, by the Overlooking Resort road.
If taking a tricycle or van from the El Nido airport please instruct the van or tricycle driver to go to Corong Corong, and take the Overlooking Resort Road, you will need to go up the road and immediately take a straight right unto Karuna's dirt road, go all the way up to the cement road and you'll end in Karuna's front office.
Other things to note
We are not wheelchair friendly since the units are built into the hills -You must be prepared and be able to walk one or two flights of stairs
To get to El Nido you have 2 options:
Option 1: Fly with Airswift wwwairswiftcom directly to Lio Airport and take a 25min van or tricycle ride to us.
Option 2: Fly with several other Philippine airlines to Puerto Princesa and take a 5 hour bus ride with a minivan or a taxi.

Directions from Lio El Nido Airport:
You can take a tricycle from the airport (they roughly cost around Php 300-400). Tell the trike driver to go to Corong -Corong. Right after the El Nido National High School make a left to Overlooking Resort...DO NOT GO ALL THE WAY UP to the left…30 meters up the Overlooking Rd turn right into a dirt road which will lead you to our Karuna El Nido Front office. You can arrange transport if done in advance via Karuna El Nido.
Directions from Puerto Princesa to Karuna El Nido:
When taking the van from Puerto Princesa you end up at the bus Terminal in El Nido. Call us from there and we pick you up +63 945 583 5122.
Do note that we do not arrange airport transfers at the last minute. Please e-mail us your flight details at least a week before arrival and ask for a proper quotation to be paid at the front desk upon arrival.
