With great respect to the natural environment, the minimum energy footprint and a minimal design, we tried at the same time to ensure the absolute comfort for our guests, treating their privacy as a high priority.

Summary: We stayed for 6 blissful nights at Kalypso Residence in early July 2022 in the K1 villa. There are three funky modern villas of different sizes set in a beautiful peaceful olive grove all with their own private pools and wonderful views of the sea and Methoni castle. The sunsets there were stunning and there was a lovely little first floor terrace to have a drink and enjoy them! Our villa was beautifully designed, had good Wi-Fi and well equipped and was very clean thanks to an excellent regular maid service. The showers and beds were excellent like those found in a posh hotel! The customer service we received from Depie, the owner, was first rate and friendly and she provided lots of local information and regular contact to check if we needed anything without being intrusive. The Guest Welcome Pack of homemade produce such as jams and olive oil was a lovely touch as was the bottle of wine already chilled in the fridge on our arrival. She also went ‘above and beyond’ and helped us to find a hotel stay on our 7th night in the nearby town of Pylos which was much appreciated! Thanks Depie! The villas have been built to an eco specification with a low energy footprint and feel very light and temperate inside so even in 32’c outside we hardly had to use the AC (which was very effective when we did need it and had units in all the main rooms). Also had inbuilt insect screens into the door openings to help keep the bugs out! The only downsides I can think of and they are very minor ones, were that we would have liked a toaster and a cheese grater in the kitchen! Also to note that it was a little further than we thought to walk down the windy road to the beach and town and then was all back up hill later. But thats not an issue if you have a car as we did as there is plenty of parking by the seafront and it only took 10 mins to drive down. We recommend you go and visit Methoni castle as its fabulous! Also we visited Koroni Castle (40 mins drive) and Pylos castle (20 mins drive) both very historical and interesting. We hope to go back to Kalypso Residence for a future holiday as it was perfect!
