Nestled in Cornfield Point - with water on two sides, private beach with summer lifeguard, boat launch, community activities, tennis/pickleball courts, basketball court, children’s playground, clubhouse. This fully updated home is just 75 yards from Long Island Sound in one direction and the sandy swimming beach a short stroll away. The fenced-in backyard has beautiful gardens, fruit trees, patio, barbecue and shed with beach chairs and summer toys for your day at the beach.
The home is a perfect blend of Nantucket style and contemporary comfort. Soaring ceilings, crisp lines and fully outfitted, the house is easy for couples, families, and friends to enjoy. Enter through the front door to the sun room that boasts water views - a perfect place for morning coffee or to relax with a book. From there, the living room, dining room and modern kitchen go from front to back with soaring cathedral ceilings, natural stone gas fireplace, and transom windows which bathe the space in plentiful natural light. With hardwood floors throughout the first floor you will find a private master suite with queen bed and en-suite bath with two sinks and walk-in shower, two additional bedrooms (one with a queen bed; the other a full bed), full bathroom with shower/tub, and a separate laundry room. The open and airy second floor loft holds a sectional sofa and tv area, book nook and desk, all seemingly floating above the first floor.
Six individuals sleep comfortably in three bedrooms - two queen beds and one full bed. The kitchen is awash in coastal white with marble countertop, sub zero refrigerator, high end appliances and fully stocked dishware and kitchen utensils. Off the kitchen is the laundry room with full-sized washer and dryer. French doors open to the inviting back yard with two stone patios, propane barbecue, outdoor wood-burning chimney and the she shed with beach chairs and water toys for use. All linens and towels are furnished making your vacation all the easier. There is a whole-house generator, water purification system and humidity control for your security and comfort - and of course, Wifi and smart tvs. All utilities, lawn care, snow removal and trash pick up included with rentals.
Cornfield Point is the perfect summer escape, with community activities for adults and children alike all summer long. In the off season, it is a serene, sublime beachside community. Besides enjoying the ocean breezes and scenic overlooks, the community tradition is to witness spectacular evening sunsets from the large beach. You can also catch the morning sunrise just feet from the house - or fish at that early hour from many easy access points. Movie nights on the sand, bonfire, barbecue, parades, even an ice cream truck stops at the beach! Besides the fantastic sandy beach with wonderful swimming offshore, kayak and paddle board racks and and boat launch, you are welcome to use the tennis/pickleball courts, basketball court, children’s playground. Nearby is Fenwick for golf, Harveys Beach, The Kate and the wonderful town of Old Saybrook. You will find Cornfield Point is a friendly community with many families coming here for generations. The property is not waterfront, but so close you can see and smell the ocean. Take your morning coffee to one of the community overlooks to enjoy the sights and sounds of the water. Or catch the sunrise if so moved. Be sure to stroll down to the beach and join your neighbors who gather to witness spectacular sunsets every evening.
