Notably, this home was once owned by the legendary bootlegger Bill McCoy, a prominent figure during the Prohibition Era. Known as the “Real McCoy,” he became one of the country’s most wanted men for rum-running in the early 1900s. McCoy gained fame for selling only genuine, unadulterated liquor exactly three miles offshore, enabling McCoy to operate “legal” floating liquor stores in international waters at a time when counterfeit alcohol was rampant. McCoy’s presence adds a touch of intrigue and excitement to the already captivating ambiance of this home.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.
