The town is situated on the Blackall Range, at an altitude of around 450 metres above sea level, and offers stunning views of the surrounding countryside. The closest walk (which does not require a car) is at your door step – Mapleton Falls National Park. The park covers an area of approximately 52 hectares and is home to a stunning waterfall, rainforest, and a variety of flora and fauna. The park also features several short walking tracks, ranging from easy strolls to more challenging hikes. The Picnic Creek Circuit is a popular 1.3km walk that takes visitors through lush rainforest and past a small waterfall, while the Wompoo Circuit is a 1.8km walk that offers stunning views of the waterfall and surrounding countryside. In addition to the walking tracks, the park also offers picnic areas with barbecues, toilets, drinking water & free paking, making it a great place to spend a day exploring and enjoying the outdoors.
