Nice cottage classified on 3* of beautiful quality in a renowned winery Charming cottage with wooden cladding, classified 3*, located in a renowned wine estate. Small private pool on a panoramic terrace, usable from June and the end of September. And from November to May, when the swimming pool is no longer usable, a jacuzzi and a sauna are available free of charge, and to be shared between the 3 cottages of the same capacity. Table d'hôtes on request in low season.
The cottages are located on a hill offering open views over the village of Roquetaillade and the 11th century castle. The surrounding valleys enjoy a temperate climate, more spared from high temperatures than the coast. The Hautes Corbières are part of the great vineyards of Corbières, and it is there that the famous blanquette de Limoux is produced. The wines of the estate are also renowned, listed in wine guides and presented in the best Parisian restaurants.
It is the heart of the Cathar country, in a still preserved environment where nature lovers can find great satisfaction. Many white water sports around, fishing and hiking are essential. Possibility also of many cultural discoveries: the medieval city of Carcassonne (listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site), several Cathar castles, the site of Rennes-le-château where the mystery of the strange Abbé Saunière still hovers (rendering famous by the Da Vinci Code) and medieval villages to visit, such as Mirepoix...
The domaine has 3 independent cottages, built on different levels and without overlook.
The exterior is arranged like a chalet with a wooden terrace partly sheltered. The back of the cottages offers a view of a few wind turbines located on the other hill. Each cottage has 70 m² and built on the same level and very comfortably fitted out for 4 people. This cottage is the highest one. Large living room of over 40 m² with kitchen area, lounge and dining area, 1 double bedroom with private bathroom and toilet, 1 twin bedroom and 1 separate shower room with toilet.
The private pool of 5.50mx3.50m and 1.20m deep, facing south to take advantage of the heat, is open between the from beginning of June and the end of September. Secured by an alarm, it is surrounded by a wooden beach equipped with deckchairs. It is extended by a large shaded wooden terrace with a dining room and a small lounge.
For the off season :
The Nordic Spa and the Sauna can each accommodate 4 people. Slot reservations will be made directly on site and can be used between the 3 cottages.
They are both heated with wood. This requires preparations approximately 1 hour before the first use of the day.
The sauna is in the middle of nature, in the middle of the vineyards, and enjoys a soothing view.
The jacuzzi is located under the trees, near the dining room and not far from a shower and toilet area. It is equipped with led lamps and can therefore be used in the evening. The water, treated with chlorine, is renewed every weekend.
These are life experiences in the middle of NATURE, common in Scandinavia, and much rarer in the South of France.
The table d’hôtes is provided by Sophie, in the estate’s former cellar, by the fireside at 100m away from the cottages. It offers home cooking mainly with local products, most often organic, and predominantly vegetarian, but not only... Evening menu at 25€ per person with starter, main course, desert.
Sophie can also make dishes at your request.
