This cabin is situated on secluded Spoon Lake and is the perfect getaway for a family looking to enjoy the beauty that northwest Montana has to offer with the convenience of town just minutes away. Spoon Lake is seven miles outside of Columbia Falls, Mt, which offers grocery shopping, restaurants, and sporting equipment. Located less than 15 miles from the West Entrance to Glacier National Park, the cabin is centrally located between the National Park and the other great things that Flathead County has to offer.
The cabin can comfortably sleep 7 people with an upper loft housing a queen bed. The main floor is a cozy open floor plan with a full kitchen, dining and living area. The main area of the bottom floor has a double/full bed. There is also a bunk room that sleeps four (children) and a laundry room with washer and dryer. All floors have spectacular views of Spoon Lake and the surrounding mountains.
Spoon Lake is a “motorless” lake and your family can safely enjoy sunbathing, swimming, canoeing and fishing (make sure you check on current local fishing laws). The lake has an abundance of wildlife for you to enjoy as half the land surrounding the lake is protected National Forrest. The cabin is situated up on a hillside with a gentle winding path that will take you down to the property’s dock and canoe, which is there for your use.
Flathead County has a lot to offer for the outdoor enthusiast. There are multiple locations for hiking, mountain biking, whitewater rafting and tubing, horseback riding, fishing and fly fishing, and golf all within 30 miles of the cabin. If you bring your own equipment, many activities can be done steps from your door.
For those that enjoy the finer things in life, Whitefish is located just 20 miles away and offers higher end shopping and dining. Whitefish Resort at Big Mountain offers spectacular views of Whitefish Lake, more shopping, and many of the outdoor activities listed above. Bigfork, MT, is an artist community with galleries and local Montana products and is located 35 miles from Spoon Lake. The area has so much to offer.
To get to the cabin, fly into Glacier International Airport and take a short 20 minute drive. Other options include Missoula, MT with a 3 hour drive and Spokane, Washington which is a 4 ½ hour drive. No matter how you get here, it is beautiful.
