Serenity and adventure await you at this private home nestled on a half acre of beautiful rainforest. Lazy Lehua Cottage is ideal for quiet or adventurous couples, small families, honeymooners, artists, poets, musicians and authors. If it's serenity you need, or adventure you crave, Lazy Lehua Cottage is the perfect place. The native birds will serenade you while you drink your early morning tea or coffee. Float suspended in a hammock chair on one of the 3 lanai's while gazing out to the abundant rainforest that hosts gigantic Hapu'u ferns, magnificent Lehua flowering Ohia trees and aromatic ginger. Many people visit Volcano National Park just to experience the Rainforests, so what better way to experience them than to spend the night at Lazy Lehua.
Lazy Lehua Cottage is located 2 miles from Volcano Village where restaurants, galleries, winery, golf course and Sunday Famers Market can all be found. Volcano is a beautiful little artist community and great resting spot for seeing the east side of the island with it's rainforest, orchid gardens, winery, hiking trails, waterfalls, black sand beaches and farmers markets -- it's simply an amazing place. World Famous Hawaii Volcano National Park is 3 miles away, a must for your trip to the Big Island.
The Big Island offers many unforgettable experiences. Volcano makes for a great place to stay to visit the surrounding area. In Hawaii Volcano National Park, you can walk through a giant lava tube, hike through unforgettable rain forests, steaming craters, or see what Kilauea Volcano is creating today; one of the only place's in the world you will experience new land being created. Check out Punalu’u beach, the Big Islands most famous black sand beach. Swim in the pristine waters where sea turtles swim, rest and lay their eggs in the beautiful black sand, a 30 minute drive. If coffee is what you crave, visit Ka'u Coffee Mill in Pahala and see coffee being grown and produced on the Island. Visit old historic downtown Hilo, only 30 minutes away. Walk through the beautiful Hawaii Tropical Botanical Gardens, or to hike to the many waterfalls.

Soak your sore muscles in our 2 person master bedroom jetted tub over looking the beautiful rainforest just outside your window. Exactly what you need after your day of exploration on the Big Island. You'll be rejuvenated and ready for more adventures.
Lazy Lehua Cottage was lovingly built in 2004. The idea for Lazy Lehua Cottage was to make it a special place for guests to stay and relax. Focus was on putting as much character, charm and soul in to it and making it a whimsical, beautiful place for everyone to enjoy. Trees were hand cut and property cleared only enough to put Lazy Lehua Cottage in its perfect place. The beautiful Ohia trees that unfortunately had to be cut down were used for the posts on the lanais giving it, its whimsical cottage look that blends in well with the rain forest. In keeping in the spirit of whimsical, some of the furniture throughout the cottage was hand crafted; coffee table, bar top and headboard on bed all using local, exotic and native woods. Our property is unique as we use our home often and we visit frequently so it is kept in immaculate condition! We know you'll feel the magical spirit of the house when you stay here.
We have always been recognized for our cleanliness. Because your safety and comfortability are our top PRIORITIES, we have enhanced our cleaning and sanitizing procedures even more. We are following the guidelines set forth by the CDC and AHLA (American Hotel and Lodging Association) for cleaning and disinfecting to ensure a Safe Stay.
