Casa del Gecko is our two bedroom, two bathroom condo located on a hillside overlooking Playa Conchal, voted best beach in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. This top floor accomodation has been recently updated, is super clean and offers awesome panoramic views of the ocean, beach and jungle from the full length balcony that stretches across the living area and the master bedroom. The location provides our guests a relaxing environment in this layed back no hustle bustle area of Guanacaste.

Once your reservation is made, we will send you a packet of information about the condo, driving directions, details about our property manager, local beaches, restaurant recommendations, things to do in the area, do's and don'ts regarding car rental in Costa Rica, things to do and what not to do, etc. Many of our guests have said this information is very valuable especially for first time travelers to Costa Rica.
Our small condo community is two buildings, 18 total units with private parking and 24 hour security. A community pool is on site and most of the time you will have it to yourselves. We are less than a 1 hour drive from Liberia airport (LIR). Our English speaking property manager will meet you, get you settled in and can offer any assistance you require for tourist activities that may interest you.
Casa del Gecko has a full length shaded balcony separated from the living area and master bedroom by wall to wall sliding glass doors. The balcony is a great place to enjoy your morning coffee or tea, eat lunch or dinner and watch the birds. In the evening watch the glistening stars and lights of Flamingo across the bay. Includes comfortable deck chairs and tables for the balcony. The master bedroom has a king size bed and an on- suite bathroom with large tiled shower. The guest bedroom has two twin beds and is adjacent to a full size guest bathroom with shower. The fully equipped kitchen includes granite countertops, side by side refrigerator with ice maker, flat surface stove/oven, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, blender, pots and pans, utensils, etc. There is also a nice assortment of spices, cooking oils, etc for those who want to cook meals. A full size washer and dryer is included. Central air conditioning and ceiling fans keep the condo comfortable. A wall safe is available to store your valuables. Internet access is available as well as a flat screen TV with a large selection of videos. Sorry, no cable TV, but don't worry, you won't want to watch TV when at Casa del Gecko!
An outdoor communal grill is also available on the common area at ground level.
Adjacent to the property is a nice restaurant and bar with daily specials, awesome views of the ocean and the pool.
Access to Playa Conchal is only a ten minute walk where you will find crystal clear water and a quiet white sand beach or you can continue to walk to the north end of the beach where you can swim, snorkel, soak up the sun and be treated to food and drink by the beachside vendors. In addition, there are several other beautiful beaches within walking or short driving distance. Pirates beach is a short drive from the condo where Daniel serves cold beverages and freshly grilled shrimp on the beach and where you can enjoy a gorgeous sunset. Brasilito is the nearest beach side community with restaurants, bars and basic shopping. Playa Minas is a quiet and secluded beach for swimming, relaxing and turtle watching during the evenings and is an easy walk from the condo. Often times this beach has less than 10 people on it and somedays you can have it all to yourselves. Playa Grande is one of the single longest beaches in Costa Rica with beach side restaurants and great surfing just a short drive from the condo. Playa Grande is also home to the giant Leatherback turtles that nest here each year. One of our favorite beaches is Playa Penca in Petrero (a little hard to find, but the locals will direct you). If clean sand beaches are not your style, there is the private pool located on the property that also offers fabulous views of the ocean and countryside.
Brasilito is a fishing village with restaurants and shopping a short distance from the condo. Flamingo Beach with additional shops and restaurants is just north of Brasilito.
If you are looking for more excitement, Tamarindo is your place. It is a prime spot for surfing, sport fishing, shopping, dining and night life.
With pristine beaches and stunning natural beauty, Cost Rica offers many adventures and activities including secluded beaches, hiking, ziplining, hot springs, surfing, paddle boarding, diving, river rafting, fishing and wonderful National Parks. Day trips and fishing excursions can easily be arranged on site by our property manager.
Options are almost endless and perfect for those who like a more active vacation or want to split their time between laid-back and all-out.
Beach bumming one day and a thrilling adventure the next, perfect for couples who love both or where one wants to relax and the other is more active.
Bird watchers will delight in the having the chance to spot some of the more than 400 species on birds in Cost Rica.
Cost Rica is also home to the nesting beaches of five of the world's seven species of marine turtles!
