Enjoy your morning coffee on the upper deck watching dolphins and whales frolicking in the water below. Take a sun drenched long lunch on the lower deck then move to the alfresco area to sip your favourite drink marvelling at the colourful sunset. Finish the day on the day with a relaxing soak in the spa followed by a movie streamed to the large TV with Sonos sound system. Life doesn’t get much better than this!
Perfectly located with a short walk to dog friendly Tilbury Cove, Culburra Beach or Warrain Beach. Tilbury cove is a lovely quiet end of Culburra Beach perfect for kids, SUPs and swimmers.

The three bedrooms allow flexibility for rental by a mixed family group, or 3 couples.

DOGS are welcome at The Headland and house trained dogs are allowed indoors. There is an enclosed front courtyard suitable for keeping your dog safe when you go out. The waterfront lawn area has new glass fencing either side to deter your dog visiting the neighbours. The upper deck has a dog/child gate and there is an additional gate available to block off the stair access to the rock shelf if desired. There are dog bowls and dog washing facilities available. Culburra is a fantastic place to visit with your dog. Culburra beach is always dog friendly and has 2 daily off leash periods.
CHILDREN are welcome. We have games, a high chair and a portable cot available. Cot linen is not supplied. There are gates available to block off the stair access to the rock shelf for increased safety. The hot tub has a locked cover for when not in use.
WHAT TO DO at The Headland:
- Enjoy the view! Weather permitting the upper deck is great for a morning cuppa, otherwise use the alfresco. For lunch with a view do the lower deck. For something special, watch the sunrise and the sunset. During winter both can be seen from the upper deck.
- Dolphin watching. We usually see dolphins from 8:30am to 10:00am several days a week. They swim past from the ocean to Culburra Beach and then back again only 100 metres offshore. During migration humpback whales can be seen.
- Walk up the road to the lookout at the far end of Penguins Head. Look for the seal that frequents the rocks.
- Walk along Culburra beach with your dog. Culburra Beach is dog friendly and has off-leash times. You can return at low tide via the rock shelf or use the ramp at Tilbury Cove to the road and then home.
- If you are adventurous try a walk at low tide from the base of the stairs around the headland to the surf beach. Continue up to the sandbar separating the ocean from the lake and then follow the walkways back to the Lake.
- Watch some movies. The big TV is hooked up to a Sonos sound system and puts out high quality sound. Fetch TV and streaming apps are available.
- Take an evening soak in the hot tub under the fairy lights.
- Go fishing. Fish can be caught off the rocks directly below the property (fishing license can be purchased online).
- Go surfing: You have the choice between walking to Culburra or Warrain Beaches with different aspect/conditions. The surf school just down the road can arrange surf lessons, hire boards, wetsuits, kayaks, paddle boards.
- Picnic by the beach: there are some lovely picnic tables at the end of Tilbury Cove, accessed through the beach entry at the park, or via a short walk along the rock shelf.
- Visit the new children’s new playground for a swing or to kick a ball around, 300m down the road
- Ride your bike! Culburra is very flat and quiet, easy to ride down to the lake, river, lighthouse and shops.

Conveniences include a well stocked Woolworths (yes you can organise delivery in advance) as well as a coffee cart, bottle o, beautician and nail salon. It also has 3 op shops!
- Less than 15 mins away from the world-famous Jervis Bay
- Lovely beach and bush walks nearby; Jervis Bay, National Parks, Kangaroo Valley, Berry, Milton, Abrahams Bosom.
- Lake and Shoalhaven River for boating - 2 boat ramps.
- Fantastic nearby local wineries and restaurants
- Oyster farms at Greenwell Point.
- Golf: 3 courses nearby
- Lake Woollumboola nearby is famous for its birdlife.
PLEASE NOTE
The Headland is not available for weddings, pre-wedding celebrations, schoolie groups or parties of any kind. Maximum of 6 adult guests at all times.
We encourage family groups or 2-3 couples. This is a residential area and excess noise will not be tolerated. The spa is not to be used after 10pm.
The spa is professionally serviced weekly to ensure safety. The pool company may need to access the spa in the front courtyard during your stay to complete this service.
We do not allow check in or check out on Sundays.
The BBQ in the sunroom is currently unavailable as the sun room cannot currently be closed off from the living room.
We have consistently rescheduled or refunded all our guests when they have been unable to travel due to COVID lockdowns.
