The Cottage at Stumble Creek is your cozy home away from home, in the beautiful Blue Ridge mountains, in the heart of the 151 Nelson County Trail. We are in the center of over 30 wineries, breweries, and cideries, as well as skiing, mountain biking, golf, caverns, hiking trails, and orchards. Come enjoy all the Blue Ridge has to offer!
The cottage backs up to a large sloping yard and woods, with mountain views from every angle. We provide all of the amenities of home, and then some!

Stumble Creek Cottage underwent a make-over in June 2020.! We painted, upgraded, and refurnished the entire home. We are excited to provide our guests with a beautiful new look!
We are just 0.3 miles from Blue Mountain Brewery, and there are over 20 other wineries, cideries, and breweries within 10 miles. We are just a short distance from the Wintergreen All Season Resort and Spa, the Charlottesville Airport, the Historic Charlottesville Downtown Mall, and the University of Virginia. There are also lots of family activities close by including skiing, mountain biking, golf, orchards, caverns, and walking/hiking trails. We provide a full list of local attractions.
The Cottage at Stumble Creek (sleeps up to 9) may be rented independently, or with The Roadhouse at Stumble Creek (sleeps up to 6), for a total of 15 guests (message us for details). The properties are together on 1.6 acres, and each have privacy. If you are interested in booking both properties, please ask us about The Retreat listing. Great for larger groups and family reunions.
Enjoy a glass of wine and soak in the mountain views from the deck, roast marshmallows around the fire pit, or enjoy a local craft brew while throwing corn hole and horseshoes with friends and family. Stumble on down to the creek to enjoy the local wildlife. Firewood and starters are provided.
The well-appointed kitchen offers everything a chef would need to cook a gourmet meal, and we also have a large propane grill. The kitchen includes full pot and k-cup coffee maker, full pan set, crockpot, waffle/panini maker, and more! There is also a high chair. Just ask, we are happy to answer any questions about amenities.
The basement game room (listed as bedroom 4) provides plenty of space for the crew to hang out while playing a game of foosball, Shuffleboard, or piano. Cool during the summer and warm in the winter, this all season room offers great fun! There is also a queen sleeper sofa bed for extra sleeping space.
Each of the three bedrooms includes comfortable, high quality linens and mattresses. Bedroom one has a king bed, bedroom two has a queen bed and includes a half bath, and bedroom three has a full bed. We also provide a pack n’ play (linen not provided).
In the den you will find comfortable seating and a smart TV.
The Cottage at Stumble Creek comes with lots of family games, cards, corn hole boards, horseshoes, and movies, as well as smart TVs and wifi.
A laundry room with washer and dryer is also available to our guests.
At Stumble Creek, we do our best to offer our guests amenities and incidentals that make your trip extra special. We hope your find it to be a comfortable home away from home.
Want to bring your furry friends? We do allow up to two dogs, for a small fee. VRBO requires we put a eight limit, so if you have a dog larger than 50 lbs, please just message us. All dogs must be kept on a leash while outside.

A few things to note:
The property is on well and septic. We do have a water purification system, but many guests still prefer to bring bottled water.
We do have a ring camera on the front porch and rear of the house. This does not record, but is there so we can monitor the grounds in between guests. Both cameras are exterior only.
We do provide onsite trash pick-up. No going to the dump!
