As of 2022 Revenue Canada requires that 13% HST be remitted on all reservations secured through portal sites such as VRBO as opposed to those taken directly. This is collected by VRBO.

The standard maximum number of individuals over the age of 20 we allow is 6, although this depends on the nature of the group and is determined on a case by case basis, ie. it can be more or less.
Standard check in time is 3 pm and checkout is 11, this is often flexible particularly in non summer months.
In addition, during the summer (we are more flexible during spring thru fall) we prefer 4-7 day bookings but given we will accommodate varied turnover days (and the occasional 2-3 night weekend reservation) this inevitably results in 2-3 day vacant periods between longer reservations which we need to allow at certain points during the summer. Hence we have set our minimum stay at 2 nights although in general we prefer longer rentals.
Although we will consider a Saturday arrival/departure, in general we prefer to avoid this as it splits the weekend and can make the remaining day difficult to rent. If a Saturday arrival or departure is your preference please discuss with us prior to booking.
Certainly, inquire if you are interested in a shorter stay, but we can not guarantee we will be able to accommodate those request.
In general we require our guests to be a minimum of an average 30 years of age unless the group is a family with children.
There are hardwood floors throughout, all made from reclaimed barnboard, there are stone fireplaces both upstairs and down, and a beautiful gourmet kitchen. We have a home theatre in the downstairs rec room. A small 12 ft diameter above ground pool has been added to compliment the backyard oasis. We also have a built-in fire pit in our backyard deck----perfect for mellow evenings around the fire roasting marshmallows (without the need to sleep in a tent afterwards!) The view from the rear of the house is a forest with large willow trees.
Guests will have access to all four bedrooms, two washrooms, a laundry room, the above ground pool in the summer, bicycles, and a canoe and a kayak. We have an organized toy nook loaded with toys appropriate for ages 3-9, as well as kid arts and crafts supplies. We have a shelf of board games, we have outdoor games such as Bocci ball. We offer wiFi, Netflix, Prime, Disney Plus and an X-box as well. There is also an elliptical machine and a Foosball table.
NEW FOR 2021, the garage has been converted to a play area which includes monkey bars, ninja line, inflatable tumble tracks, basketball net, swing/gymnastics bar, etc.
Available beds include 2 king, 1 queen and 1 room with the double/queen bunk beds. High end inflatable nylon (as opposed to vinyl) mattresses (both queen and twin) available on request.
The location is the perfect blend or rural and urban----the view from our windows is a forest, the feel inside our home is of an upscale chalet, we are a three minute drive down to the Grand River where we can launch our canoes, and yet we live within 15 minutes of absolutely all of the cultural and entertainment amenities that a large city has to offer.
For a day trip, we are a 30 minute drive from the idyllic, artistic town of Elora. This town is built around the river, and boasts gorgeous old stone buildings and a myriad of artisan shops----amazing shopping to find unique home décor, clothing, and jewellery.
We are a 30 minute drive to Stratford, a beautiful town which hosts the renowned Stratford Shakespearean festival.
We are a short 1hr drive to Toronto.
We are also a 1hr 40min drive from the beach town of grand bend. Here you can swim, jetski, shop along the boardwalk, and generally pick up the relaxed, fun vibe that goes along with a beachtown.
We are also located 1 hour and 15 minutes from niagara falls, as well as one hour from niagara on the lake, which is wine country, where you can take vineyard tours.
