The space
Within a 10 minute stroll of the lively village centre and across the street from a river, Cedar Cottage is a post war traditional cottage that has been completely renovated and brought up to modern day standards. Its centrally located in the West with quick access to Galway, the Wild Atlantic Way, and Connemara.
This lovely home accommodates six in three bedrooms and has a light and airy feel to it with lots of windows allowing natural light to flood the home set in this idyllic location.

The neighborhood
Oughterard, on the shores of Lough Corrib, is set at the gateway to Connemara. Oughterard’s friendly locals and vibrant pub and restaurant scene make it the ideal location to experience a small Irish village and a base from which to explore the breathtaking scenery surrounding it.
The lively coloured shop-fronts and well-maintained architecture allows the village to perfectly blend old Irish charm with contemporary levels of service and comfort. The crowning jewel is the picturesque Owenriff River running through the town starting in the Connemara mountains and emptying, at the edge of town, into Lough Corrib.
Lough Corrib, running alongside Oughterard, is the largest lake in the Republic and it not only offers some of the most spectacular views around but is a world-renowned fishing spot. The fresh water trout and salmon bring fishermen from all over the world to try their luck.

Oughterard is also only 17 miles from Galway City, the third largest city in the Republic, offering both Irish souvenir shopping as well as a taste of European styles.
The Connemara Mountains, just West of town, provide some of the most breathtaking scenery in the world. The rocky landscape, turf bogs, scattered lakes and sheep dotting the mountainsides are sights you will never forget.
