Casa Makam is located in the heart of the historic centre of Rome. It is offered as a small retreat in the centre of the Eternal City. A stone's throw from Piazza Navona, with its alleys full of bars, restaurants and clubs of all kinds. But once you have passed the entrance gate you will find yourself in another dimension, with the external staircase and the small but characteristic courtyard that leads to a 15th century building, yet equipped with a modern lift up to the second floor. Alternatively, a beautiful travertine staircase will allow you to discover the true aspect of a modern Roman condominium in a 15th century building. The apartment, designed and renovated by a boat architect, displays its layout in the optimal division of the spaces and with small windows that resemble portholes illuminating this delightful small apartment which has two bedrooms, both with private bathroom, and an open-plan living and dining area where an original (ornamental) fireplace of the time stands out. In the hottest season, this little "retreat" will protect you from the sun that lights up the hot Roman days. Equipped with air conditioning in the bedrooms and living area, Casa Makam is the ideal solution for a family with one or two children or for a small group of friends.
Interior:
From the communal pedestrian gate, 21 steps lead up to the lift or else you can continue up the stairs. The apartment is located on the second floor of an old 15th century building, on a single floor of 100 sq m. The entrance door opens into a small hallway that leads into the open-plan living room, with sofa, armchairs and dining area. Under a small loft in the living area (height 1.20 m) is a door leading to the double bedroom with ensuite bathroom with tub. On the left a small corridor leads to a second bathroom with shower and a twin bedroom. Communicating with the dining area is the kitchen, small but well equipped, and from here a few steps and a narrow corridor with windows lead to another room, used as a laundry.
