This large, Classic Caribbean, Home is located in the incredible Beach Bay seaside area, beside the Mandarin Oriental Resort site. A quiet, central location means that you can enjoy being away from the hustle and bustle of the populated areas but remain a max. 30 minute drive to all destinations, with many destinations and all necessary amenities just minutes away. The beach is just a 7 minute walk down the road! Well-Equipped for Kids. (The required 13% Tourist Tax is included in the price.)
The space
Oneworld Guest House is a true Caribbean-style guest house similar to what you would expect to rent as a higher-end rental in places like Nicaragua and Costa Rica. It is a heritage-style home with hard wood floors and furnishings and boasts granite countertops in the kitchen and baths.
All 4 bedrooms (2 king, 1 Bunk with 2 Twins, and 1 Queen) are large & beautifully furnished with high-quality and high-comfort mattresses and include plenty of closet space. 3 of the 4 have their own private balcony or patio. 2 of the upper rooms have partial views of the sea.
The room with the Bunk Bed is equipped for kids, with kid-themed sheets for the mattresses, a kids library of books and games, a desk full of coloring and drawing supplies, and a closet full of toys for kids of all ages. Much space is available for kids to play in the room and the balcony has a carpet that can be placed out there as well (with supervision).
The 2 Twin mattresses on the bunk bed are adult-quality and size with large twin frames and the bunk itself is very sturdy, which means that adults may also use it. There are also 2 double inflatable mattresses along with enough room for them if the room needs to host more than 3 people.
There is also a smaller replica of the dining room table set up just outside the dining room area in the far end of the living room for 4 kids, with chairs, so that kids can have their own dining area or general area to do arts and hobbies at, in the main area.
Much of the furniture in Oneworld Guest House is antique or hi-end character pieces and captures an elegant but relaxed, classic Caribbean, and global character. The kitchen is very large and seats 8-10 people, with room left over. The living room features several seating areas with plenty of space for kids or grown ups to play. The widescreen TV utilizes Roku Internet TV as well as a chromecast receiver, so that you can cast anything you can get on your laptop, on the TV, and there is also a full cable package with high-speed fiber wireless internet.
There is a 'floating' second TV available that is usually kept in the Upper Master Closet, which is on a stand with wheels and may be moved (carefully) from room-to-room, in case any individuals wish to have their own private TV at any time. This TV also works great in the bunk room to create a private cinema for kids.
The inside, hardwood balcony that leads to the upper 3 bedrooms and the second bath acts as the home's library, reading area, and office space, with a designated desk and wireless printer/scanner, for those who can only travel if they bring work with them. There are several good reads present in our library.
Oneworld Guest House has a large yard that has lots of room for kids to play and discover in. There are several fruit trees in the yard, including sour cherry, lime (actually a Mediterranean citrus), guinep, and naseberry, all of which our guests are welcome to enjoy.
Guest access
Guests have access to the entire property but we would ask to keep children out of the carport where the boat is parked (and sometimes the company van) in order to avoid any mishaps in there. There is a small lock-off that is not accessible at the top of the stairs. The garage is not accessible but someone can be contacted at short notice to access the breaker box if needed, though there are not issues with the breakers at this rental.
Other things to note
Please note that, due to the size and scale of this property, the $200 cleaning fee is only intended to cover half of the average cleaning cost. Because most guests are very clean and prefer to leave the place quite clean, I prefer to honor that by only charging for half of the cleaning fee. In cases where extensive cleaning is required.....or in other words, the place is left a significant mess.....I may ask guests to contribute more to cleaning.
