Summary: Our recent stay was highly unsatisfactory. We found a mouse living in a lower kitchen cabinet; we heard it then saw droppings in its “nest” area. There were cockroaches in the kitchen and a centipede near a bedroom. There were ticks in the grass around the cabin that got on our dog when he went outside and then they got on us. The overall state of the rental and some of its amenities were highly inadequate. Much of the cabin was filthy with dirt and dust – we cleaned the kitchen counter tops with disinfectant wipes; the fridge was dirty; both toilets were not clean and had a dirty ring in the bowl that I wiped off. There was dog poop on the parking pad at the entrance to the cabin and on the deck off the living room. The upstairs master bedroom had a terrible smell; the downstairs bedroom had a hard mattress and no top sheet. The upstairs half-bathroom had no hand towel. The full bathroom had inadequate towels – they were very small and threadbare. There was very little toilet paper. There was no detergent for the dishwasher. There weren’t enough glasses/cups for our family of five; we had to purchase some disposable cups. There were many flies inside the cabin; there were no lids on the indoor trash can or the outdoor trashcan that was right outside the front door. Overall, we were hugely disappointed with the condition of the cabin. We would not recommend it to others in its current condition. A thorough deep cleaning is needed and several items need to be better stocked.
