Deep water is a straight shot and less than 5 minutes from the property. Unlike Bayside homes situated north of US1, Geiger Key offers quick access to the reef and deep water by boat. World class tarpon fishing from the backyard and frequent manatee visits await! Enjoy the tranquility of beautiful Geiger Key, with the culture, dining, and nightlife of downtown Key West less than a 15 minute drive away.
After 20 years of ownership and many upgrades along the way, we are excited to give others the opportunity to experience our “favorite place” and the joy of being oceanside on Geiger Key! With the quaint charm of the “Old Keys”, our home is located in a quiet neighborhood on a dead-end road. It has been lovingly updated over the years and is a true tropical abode. The inside is open, airy and full of natural light. Sliding glass doors on the porch open into a lovely, bright living room, which is open to the kitchen and a sweet breakfast nook. The kitchen overlooks our backyard canal and the breakfast nook has a large window that looks directly out at the Atlantic Ocean. It could serve as a great space in which to work for anybody doing so remotely.
Down the main hall to the right is a smaller bedroom with a new queen bed, closet, plenty of dresser space and a flatscreen, smart tv. On the left is a bonus sleeping space/reading lounge with a twin bed. Further down the hall is a full bathroom with a shower, tub and plenty of storage. At the end of the hall is the master bedroom, complete with new dressers, a new king bed, ample closet space and a flatscreen, smart tv.
As for updates, most recently we completed a kitchen renovation to include: new counters and cabinetry, fresh flooring, and a stainless steel dishwasher – they’ll be no washing dishes while on vacation! The entire kitchen is stocked with new wares – utensils, pots and pans, dishware, glassware, toaster and microwave are just some of the new additions to make your cooking and dining easy and enjoyable. The interior has been freshly painted and has new rugs, window treatments, and furniture. Almost everything in the home, from the mattresses and linens to the coffee maker and can opener, is new. We have board games and a great collection of books by some spectacular Florida Keys authors for you to enjoy as well.
Our home is a treasure and dear to our hearts. The yard is nicely landscaped, with many places to unwind and enjoy the ocean breeze. There are no homes across the street, just grass and mangroves. This adds to the privacy and peace and quiet of the location. It also offers plenty of room to park your boat trailer! Off of the living room is a large, covered porch with ocean views, perfect for dining and relaxing. In the backyard, alongside the canal is another dining area, lounge chairs and a hammock, all overlooking the ocean. Whether fishing from the canal, enjoying a visit with our local manatees, or paddling our complimentary kayak to the Geiger Key Marina for fresh seafood and a cold beer, there are so many ways to enjoy the outdoors. Geiger Key offers the best of both worlds; a true “Old Keys” experience and only 10 miles to Key West!
Disclaimer: There are on occasion, naval jets that fly overhead. When flying overhead they are loud, although actually cool to see, especially in formation. These instances are random and days can go by without hearing them at all. They never fly at night. That said, we want our guests to know that these fly-bys can occur.
